How to automate burning of multiple DVDs

Is there any way with ImgBurn or whatever program to create automated burn so I don't have to set the settings and names and add individual files, just keep switching DVDs on demand, a kind of a project that would keep track on the progress what I have burned and what's still left pending ...etc

I don't have much history burning a lot of stuff, and never used ImgBurn to begin with.

But now I have 150 DVDs to burn ... also I think I found something about "batch" but it doesn't write, it only builds images.

It's just DATA DVD - and I have 2 DVD drives right now, so that should speed things up.

I know Nero can save a burning project so all you have to do is open and burn it. You can also run multiple instances of the software and burn to many drives at once.

Since you have two burners, I would create an image using Nero, open the image using two instances of Nero Express, select the image, and then select 75 copies. Click burn, insert disks, and it will start burning after it verifies the disk is acceptable. When one disk is burned, it will auto-eject, take disk out, insert another blank, close the tray, rinse and repeat.

I really miss the DVD burning era, going to a mate with a disc in my pocket, just to get the latest demos.
If the data is the same on all of the DVD's, then you can just put copies to 150 and exchange the disks in ImgBurn, but you will need to keep track of the count your self, if you are going to do it with multiple attempts.

This is for archives.

I've looked in blu-rays but I wouldn't need it basically at all other than the backup, doesn't look like it's worth it.

Do you plan to do incremental backups or a full backup each time? I would suggest using an RDX or LTO Ultrium backup tap drive.

It's not really that much of a backup, it's just some random stuff that have built up in the last 3 years and I just looked for a cheap solutions at this time.

i would get a mechanical hard disk and throw it all on that unplug the sucker and store it away safe.
Going to save a lot of effort and heart ache when you come to restore your back up.

Use CDBurnerXP, it's free. Create a project containing EVERYTHING, then go to Disc > Disc Spanning. Choose the method of spanning and if you'd like a table of contents to be added to each disc, then click Split, then click Burn.

If you haven't already bought the discs, those 1TB drives are pretty cheap and don't take up as much space as 150 DVDs

Not me. You know optical media degrades over time. Some faster than others. Get a tape drive or back up disks. If you go the disk route get Verbatum or other quality disks. You can get a 3 Tb drive for $100

ritek make the disks that verbatmin re-brand btw usually cheaper to but them as ritek.
but id still get a mechanical drive and store it safe, it will last a lot longer than other options.

+1 to a cheap mechanical drive and store it. I recently bought 100 Verbatim dvd-r discs and 100 cases at Sam's Club for about $50. It was for a project for friends of a pasted away friend. Any ways seeing as how the cost is very similar you could get a HDD to store all the data for same price or cheaper, and as others said, it'd make life easier in the future......i know i'd hate to sort through 150 or so dvd's to find what i needed to restore lol

I know, long story ... I already had some of the DVDs and I thought I would just put this stuff so I got actually some more due to other family needing some dvds and I got them cheaper, that's it. I'll look into CDburnerXP ... in the meantime i started burning already the slow way

Idk if ImgBurn has a quick way to burn multiple dvd's of different data, but i do love it. Oh and gotta love that jingle when its done lol
