Hello,

I have an fx8120 and a silver arrow cooling it. I have enough money to get a 4670k and a new motherboard with a H100i or a new motherboard and a 4770k. I mainly game and do a little bit of video editing. i'd like to make sure it last for about 2 years! Which would be best?

Thanks in advance!:)

Hello

What happened to your old thread? I'm fairly sure you asked the same question in another thread and got some great answers. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Sometimes people ask for help, but they get "upset" because our advice doesn't match what they wanted to hear. So they'll create hundreds of threads in the hope one person agrees with the wrong path to justify a bad upgrade choice.

The upgrade makes little sense. The FX 8120 @ 4GHz is more than capable of lasting 2 years already.

Also in the odd application or game you might even lose performance. The performance you gain overall will not be worth changing boards and CPU. Your best option is to invest your money on a more powerful GPU or SLI if you feel your video performance is lacking.

As far as I can tell, this is a SIDEGRADE, not an upgrade.
Just save the money and wait for a next gen real upgrade, like the Intel "skylake" or "broadwell" (if I'm not mistaken of their codenames).
