AMD is pleased to announce that Electronic Arts (EA) will support Mantle, AMD's groundbreaking graphics API, in three new games: Battlefield Hardline, Dragon Age: Inquisition, and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare. These join an extensive catalogue of more than 40 games that now support AMD's revolutionary graphics API. All three of these games are powered by DICE's cutting-edge engine, Frostbite 3.

The latest title from the Battlefield series, Battlefield Hardline follows Nick Mendoza's journey on a cross-country vendetta against once-trusted colleagues of the force.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is the newest entry from the classic series from BioWare. In this outing, legendary heroes look to restore order as you lead the Inquisition and hunt down the agents of chaos. BioWare's latest action-adventure delivers an unparalleled story set in a vast, changeable landscape. Explore hidden caves, defeat truly monumental creatures, and shape the world around you based on your unique play style.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare digs into the trenches with an explosive new Co-op and Multiplayer action experience. Blast zombies and plants across a mine-blowing world that delivers the depth of a traditional online shooter blended with the refreshing humor of Plants vs. Zombies. Powered by the advanced Frostbite 3 engine, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare delivers an explosive new action experience in a massive, three-dimensional world, blooming with color and combat.

"With more than 50 active developers now supporting Mantle, we're excited to see how quickly our team's vision has come to a critical mass," said Ritche Corpus, director of ISV gaming and alliances, AMD. "We launched our Mantle API with EA's Battlefield 4, and to see it expanding into more blockbuster titles from EA is very exciting."

And we're supposed to be happy that AMD is best pals with EA? Seems like a bad decision on someone's part, considering how badly things have been going.

Not sure what you are referring to, it is in principle a good thing because EA is huge, I made my comment only because we already knew AMD had this deal with EA, kinda how Nvidia has the gameworks deal with Ubisoft.

BF4 is mantle, and is still horribly broken
Thief is mantle, and is a terrifyingly bad game
Lichdom: Battlemage is mantle, and so far has an equally poor reception in the Early Access scene

Following this
BFHardline(basically 4)
Dragon Age (most likely going to be as terrible as the latest DA was
Plants Vs Zombies... shooter... really?

little bit over-exaggerating but yeah get your point and dont get me wrong, would love for AMD to improve Mantle more and partner up with some other devs/pubs.

Oh sorry, me too, I'd love mantle to get more widely accepted and render low end CPU's viable for the market in general, it's a great idea. Unfortunately partnering with EA isn't helping, because a lot of PC gamers hate EA

I fail to understand why Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare would need mantle support. Unless it's to pad your list of games supporting it, AMD should be courting developers that push the gfx envelope.

It's a game meant for most systems including low end systems. Low end systems are where Mantle have the highest benefits.

When mantle was originally announced, AMD was saying that it is a replacement for Dx/OpenGL and making the GPUs more efficient. Later they pushed it's really meant for APUs and low/middle mainstream CPUs.

Still think the latest AAA games can push Mantle adoption more than a Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare title any day of the week.

I can only greet this decision and am awaiting new Need for Speed and Mirror's Edge 2 to be powered by AMD Mantle as well. Everyone else complaining over it either don't understand why Mantle is great or they are NVIDIA users. I think EA already has their Frostbite engine fully prepared for AMD Mantle implementation and will basically support it in all future games. There will still be D3D for everyone else.

Also not sure who voted EA as the worst company. Probably bunch of ignorant idiots who hate EA since the age of their existence. EA has changed their business behavior quite a bit in the last few years and if you ask me, it's to the better. They have way better return policy on Origin for games, they make pretty good games as well. I guess the fact they unified game engines to Frostbite, means they can work with actual gameplay more and that kinda shows. Plus, they are giving away plenty of games lately, everything from simple but hilariously fun games like original Plants vs Zombies, Peggle and even AAA titles like the original Dead Space. A horror masterpiece that looks amazing even after all these years. I'm not gonna say they are great company, but they have certainly improved in a very positive way. And that's good.

So, you'd rather have a rushed game released just for the sake of it being released or just accepting the fact something didn't feel right for them and so they canceled it. For now. No one knows what might happen in the future and they might just as well throw it into development again. Running on Frostbite engine maybe? We'll see. I rather see games delayed or canceled than released in crap form. And like i said, EA lately does give a lot more for quality than they used to.

NVIDIA fanboy much?
Seem to remember all the complants and bitching people had at nvidia over physx, but AMD doing same thing with Mantle and they get a free pass. Reality is Mantle is even worse cause in a system with an nvidia card mantle doesn't work period where as Physx would least work. Mantle is a CLOSED system, don't make the bogus claim that is open source cause you can't download it anywhere or access the API's

You have a bit confusion here. Mantle is to boost the performance, and PhysX is to cripple performance. They are different stuff, so stop comparing apple to orange, mate.

um it didn't cripple performance. it leg pieces of shocks bounce around with min fps drop, a ton more then was possible before it. Mantle degraded visual quality in BF4 last i seen which could be where performance came from. Only ran slow on AMD cards cause AMD was cheap and didn't license it for their cards, who's fault is that?

^ Your eyes should be tested mate, BF4 on Mantle is perfectly fine and boost fps. Meanwhile, PhysX drops fps even on nVidia cards, mate. One more thing, PhysX doesn't run on AMD cards, it ran on CPU if you don't have a nVidia card as the main GPU.

You don't even know what are you talking about, so please kindly shut your trap.

Agree my buddy GTX780 run worse in most game that support(Nv PhysX) and with PhysX on or enabled

The lengths people go to just to defend their favorite brand is amazing.
