(SOLVED READ BELOW IF YOU HAVE/HAD THIS PROBLEM) Hey guys supp? I have a question and I really need some help. I have an ASUS MAXIMUS VII RANGER + I7 4770K. A month ago I buyed a new brand Corsair H100i cooler for my i7 4770k. I installed it with the manual to see if its everything correct and when I turn on my pc it just doesnt show any signal and a RED LED shows up on motherboard and it was the RAM LED. I clicked the MemOK button from motherboard and after 2 minutes it gets signal but my ram speed instead of 1600mhz it downclocked the speed to 1066mhz i have 2x4gb of ram and if i take one off the max i can get its 1333mhz. I need help to resolve this problem/issue, can you guys help me? Thanks btw (SOLVED READ BELOW) So thanks to Law-II my problem is solved. What did I do? Just follow this steps
1. Remove your cooler and clean the part that touch the CPU
2. Remove the CPU and clean it
3. MOST IMPORT THING check the back where the CPU and pins of the socked touch each other and see if it is cleaned. If not JUST CLEAN THE PART THAT ITS NOT CLEANED.
4. Clear the CMOS (I believe that today almost every motherboard have the button)(just turn on pc and push the button then wait 5secs turn off pc and mount the rest)
5. Aply the thermal paste to cpu. You can also put some in the cooler(optional, I puted because haswell are too hot and have some problems)
6. Mount the CPU on the socket
7. Mount the Cooler
8. Turn on pc and click Clear CMOS AGAIN(just for sure) and then click MemOK if you use asus(if another brand check manual to see if you have a similiar button) and wait until appears a sucess mensage on mainscreen.
9. Go to the bios and put your xmp profile if ram have it and save it or put the manual speed and voltages the way you have it before
10. Enjoy your pc and say thanks to me and specialy to Law-II
Once again thanks Law-II
