low physics score fx 8350

Thanks a lot. I have my 8350 on 4.2 and i just pass 6000. What bios settings for oc do u use, also whats the cooler ? Mine is evo 212, i dontthink i can go over 4.3 ghz

All I did was increased the multiplier to the point where it started crashing then backed it up a bit to the most stable one, and increased the voltage to the level where it stays stable and cool. I use Corsair H100i

At stock (bios defaults) I score about 5800, when OC I score about ~6000. I OC by seting the multi x21 and mem to 1600, nothing else and its stabile.
VRMs are fine, don't go over 72 C during Unigine or intense gaming

72°© is pretty hot. @5.1GHz mines never broke 50°© with a 40MM fan blowing on them with a M5A97 EVO. If I remember after 70°© it will start to throttle.

Another idea that was mentioned before is to get a small fan blowing onto your VRM's, that will help to reduce the temperatures quite drastically and will help avoiding VRM's getting throttled.

We missunderstod, i thought u were talking about video ram. No VRM on board are fine, don't go over 60 C in prime95.

Ill run it again but 8--9k depending on the occ.
It does 5k every time If I put power save on in power settings , in the cntrl panel of windows, could be that I suppose it definitely sounds low

Turned in power settings to high performance, tried, its the same

Well if I were you id try installing hwinfo (download from cnet) and load up its sensor suite.
You can get a logged graph of each monitored function, setup graphs of each core plus cpu volts then run the bench and see if its throttling as many suspect.

tnx, just tried, but its not throttling, only strange thing is that it reports that cores are runing at 4113 mhz while i'm on 4.2 ghz with turbo disabled

i would try and have vrms lower than that personally. some where around the 40c would be nice in my books
