Funny I am quite happy with my Storm Sentinel advanced mouse with 5200 dpi. This thing works like a champ and cost me around $65. I like it better than some of my previous Razer mice.

My most expensive mouse was a Logitch MX1000 laser mouse, it was heavy/bulky and about 70Euro at the time it came out.

Who needs a $230 mouse? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA30R19J3215

Actually I was looking at the Mad Cats RAT TE http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...618056&cm_re=Rat_mouse-_-26-618-056-_-Product

looks like it has some interesting features. A snipe button that when held down changes you DPI while you aim

I had the RAT 7 and it failed me after 1 yr. Laser gave out, no movement. I don't know what kind of laser they use but it never did track well.. I thought lasers would track on anything, not so.. more picky then optical..

So a question about the Mad Catz RAT. Is the scroll wheel free spinning like the Logitech? Were you spin it and it keeps spinning from the weight of it?

I think I'm getting the Logitech G502 Proteus Core. The reason I asked about the RAT the TE is on sale for $50 that's $30 cheaper then the 502

afaik only logitech have a "infinty scrolling wheel" mode, and for the price, even $30 cheaper a R.A.T no competition for a G502 (i had a R.A.T 7 and several Razer talk about expensive and not worth it mouse ... good brand are Logitech/Roccat/Mionix/and some other i forgot the name ... but on those i tested only Logi/Rocc stand out be it for build quality or price/real value ratio)

also i take the opportunity (to go to Mars... eh? wait ... no... ) to add : to those who have a G602, use Energizer Lithium if you use AA non rechargeable battery :D from 100% to 20% => 4month and 2weeks

PS: a R.A.T 7 at +200$ ... even MAC edition ... its taking customers for brainless fool ... that mouse is not more than 130$ where i am even the Contagion model (white)

I always thought R.A.Ts were the worst mice ever devised. When they originally came out the build quality was superb, shame the firmware was god awful. Now they're made entirely of plastic, and the price does not reflect that change in materials. I've used a R.A.T 7 and a 9 extensively. Both were taken back to the shop within days. If I may be honest I miss my old Logitech G500, and the G9x was actually pretty good. All being said, I'm happy with the Kone XTD. If it breaks, I'm just going to buy a G500 again. You know where you stand with those mice, and they last a terribly long time.

if they use the same switch as the G602 : it's perfect, and i am not a low usage type of user ... i use that mouse nearly everyday and between 8 and 14hrs a day (depend if i work or not and the weather too :D )

Well that's just silly looking mice for crazy price. Logitech G502 looks more normal, costs like 4 times less and has better spec and features. I've ordered one too, hopefully i'll like it. After 7 years of service, i feel like my Logitech G3 needs to retire.
Still have a set of new Hyperglide glide pad for it, i gues i can clean it up and sell. I'll get something back for ther G502 :D

I've been pretty happy with my Logitech G602. It's the first wireless mouse I've used that doesn't feel like a wireless mouse. I think NewEgg has is for 70 USD? I got it on sale as Best Buy for 50 USD iirc some time ago. Use some high density NiMH batteries and endurance mode will last over a month on a single charge. With that said, I had a G500 before the G602, and another G500 before that one, and a G5 before that.

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
Use some high density NiMH batteries and endurance mode will last over a month on a single charge

:D

also i take the opportunity (to go to Mars... eh? wait ... no... ) to add : to those who have a G602, use Energizer Lithium if you use AA non rechargeable battery :D from 100% to 20% => 4month and 2weeks

(ok ... i still have to buy 2 Energizer Lithium every 4month and a half ... but 9.95chf is not so bad :) i mean ... 3 set per year? DEAL! )

How much do those hold? I have A pair of 2300mAh (4600) which lives in my mouse and two pairs of 1400mAh (2800) that I will tend to either use in a controller or as a backup while the biggies charge. So far they've held their charge really well and every time I charge it, I've saved myself from needing batteries. :p

I also say a month, in reality I tend to forget when the last time I charged them was, and it definitely was over a month ago, but not more than two... I think.

already answered in the post you quote :) i get around 4 month and a half and they are just AA non rechargeable 1.5V battery

i did a lot of test with different AA and these are really the best if you don't want to use rechargeable one ofc, i bought the 1st pair in April they ran in 20% warning yesterday (they could last at least until the 2nd week of august, or even more but i rather switch them for the new ones and keep the 20% one for my Canon SX100iS )

indeed 1-2 month rechargeable battery between 2 charge are great (compared to any other wireless gaming mice :D ) normal AA are rated 1440hrs in endu mode and 250hrs in perf mode by logitech and indeed the 2 bundled with did around that time (1440hrs=60days on a 24hrs basis but as i switch sometime between perf and endu mode and use quite often my PC 2 month was already good)
