Huntkey Enterprise Group, a global professional power supply provider, has recently announced a new addition to its X7 Series. The X7 1000 power supply features 80 PLUS Bronze efficiency, fully modular cables, Japanese electrolytic capacitors and synchronous rectification DC/DC converter protection.

It is well known that X7 Series PSUs are famous for its 4E: Efficiency, Enhanced performance, Effectiveness and Environmental Friendliness, which are demonstrated mainly on its high-end products, including 900 W and 1200 W. Huntkey X7 Series PSUs captured quite a few prizes at home and abroad since its first product launch in 2009.

The ultra-efficient design found within the X7 1000 generates minimal heat and runs exceptionally quiet, even when delivering high levels of power. The PSUs meet the stringent requirements for 80 PLUS Bronze certification by achieving up to 85% energy efficiency at typical load -- reducing both energy waste and the electrical bill. Built with specially selected low-noise Japanese capacitors and solid CAPS, and latest Synchronous Rectification & DC-DC Module technology, the X7 1000 PSU delivers ultra-low noise operation during games. Moreover, a smart 120 mm fluid dynamic bearing fan runs quietly for longer PSV lifetime.

"Huntkey X7 Series redefined what a PSU should be when we launched this series on 2009. The X7 Series power supply utilizes two unique technologies-interleaved PFC and phase-shifted full-bridge, both of which guarantee its ultra-high efficiency," the product manager of Huntkey Enterprise Group, Mr Zhong said. "X7 1000 is dedicated to hardcore gamers who desire extremely high efficiency and high-definition image display, as it features 12V output delivery (with up to 80A single 12V rail), and powers up most high-end VGAs at greatly quiet operation."

Specifications:
  • Rated output: 1000 W
  • APFC design, PF value up to 0.99
  • Full range input 90~264V AC
  • Single +12V 80A output

Seems quite bold for them to claim "extremely high efficiency" on a 1kw PSU when it's only rated at 80 PLUS Bronze. Almost all the competition out there does that at at least Gold efficiency, a healthy chunk of them Platinum.

Maybe they didn't get the memo that they should be going for Gold, not Bronze?
