So let me get this straight:

Despite knowing that 4k SLI is only supported over DP 1.2... and that no graphics cards currently support HDMI 2.0... you still bought a 4k HDMI 2.0 TV. And then expected it to work with 4k SLI.

Yeah, this is not nVIDIA's fault in any way, shape or form.

AGAIN.. ONE CARD WORKS FINE... It's a DRIVER PROBLEM..
HDMI 1.4 has an existing work around that makes it work,
which is why I thought there would be no problem.
THEY SAID THEY HAVE A WORK AROUND AND IT WORKS..
DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT NOW?

They never said "Oh btw one card works but 2 do not"
like this article: http://www.tomshardware.com/news/nvidia-kepler-4k-hdmi-1.4,27117.html
or this one: http://www.anandtech.com/show/8191/nvidia-kepler-cards-get-hdmi-4k60hz-support-kind-of
or
or
or.
So annoying and childish that people act like I didn't research it, without any idea that I actually researched the shit out of it.
I wish people would stop ACTING like they know something..

No one should have to figure all this crap out anyway.
When they read an official statement that says "it works" it should work.. Period.

Let me just hit this little ignore button rq..
Ahh I feel better already.
If you can't read or understand what I am saying, I just can't listen to your nonsense.

Whoever wants to get smug next. Just ignore me and move on please, don't bother posting.
I have spent days worth of hours dealing with this. I know what I'm talking about.
Your desire to be smug and shit on someone who is already pissed off, is just... ugh...

It's something they did called "chrmoatic subsampling" or something. It still looks great and doesn't drop the refresh rate.
People tell me I should of researched before I bought and I sooo did.. lol..
That's why I even know all this stuff. No one should be expected to know all this stuff.

Oh there is no such thing as HDMI 2.0 to display port 1.2 btw.
Been looking.
I wish. XD

and yep, that was the entire point. ;)

Silly that the guy who comes in here screaming "you should of done research" didn't even read the OP..
If he did, he'd of know this was specifically about sli @ 4k, not 4k on a single gpu.
I guess the name of the topic it's self wasn't enough?

Odd i remember seeing a DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 adapter not long ago. Forgot where though.

My God if you did, you would be my hero. lol.. All I can find are "micro" adapters if anything.
I have been looking like crazy.
But with the current work around, maybe HDMI 1.4 to DP 1.2 "might" fix it. I am testing that tomorrow. I expect bad results lol.

Yeah, I think there's only the mini DP to HDMI 2.0 adapters right now like this one

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00COEBCXY/?tag=tec06d-20

but you've probably already seen that one.

I appreciate ya trying. ;)
But yea, I've seen em all..lol
I think I have anyway.

If there is a micro DP to full sized DP, then maybe lol.
I'd have an adapter on the hdmi to mini dp, then from the mini dp, to full sized dp.. lmao..
Just thinking about it makes me laugh.

The rule with Crossfire or SLI is that if the manufacturer doesn't explicitly state that a certain configuration will work, then it won't work. Don't take it too hard, many of us have also made this mistake and learned from it.

You're in such a small subset of people that I'm not suprised that you're having problems. How many people are using SLI and HDMI and 4K and chroma subsampling? You are probably one of maybe 1000 people doing this at the present. This is why there are staged releases and validated configurations; if the manufacturers waited to validate every possible configuration fully before releasing a feature then testing for each driver release would take years. It makes sense that they would validate the most common configurations first and resolve the edge cases like yours later.

If I was in your position I would just wait for the drivers to support the configuration rather than buying adapters that you're not even 100% confident will work.

have you tried startech?
http://www.startech.com/AV/Displayport-Converters/active-displayport-to-hdmi-adapter~DP2HD4KS

also are all the adapters you tried passive? or have you tried an active/powered one?

I haven't tried any adapters yet. Just different kinds of cables and sli bridges.
I have one of these coming in the mail today.
Active it says.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DOZHLAA/?tag=tec06d-20

I know it's not going to work..lol. But I have my fingers crossed.

Nvidia said it will work in the next driver release so I'm not too worried. :)
I'm doing all this so I can help people find out what does work. It gives me something to do. ;)

this is down to HDMI 1.4 not supporting 4K no amount of fiddling from NVIDIA is gonna fix this.

the problem is the TV not the system if your TV is one of the models with support for Samsung one-connect external input box thats pretty much your only option hdmi 1.4(unless Samsung releases a firmware update for hdmi 2.0 support) simply doesn't have the bandwidth to support 4K 60Hz most likely whatever fix nvida is using with single cards is breaking the HDMI spec either with tiling or some manner of compression either way its not a proper fix

tl:dr basicly Samsung lied and there early 4K tvs don't actually support 4K input
one connect box:
http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs-accessories/SEK-2500U/ZA
check the back of your unit for the one connect port

I think you're completely mistaken about what the OP is trying to do.

The discussion here isn't about whether or not the TV supports the format. The OP is using 4K @60Hz with YCbCr 4:2:2, which is supported over HDMI 1.4, and he has already proven it works on that TV with a single card. The problem here is that it doesn't work in SLI, an issue that can only be fixed with new drivers.

Half the issue in this thread is that nobody is reading anything.

In fairness to the OP, he's dabbled in new tech and fell foul of the software infrastructure that (poorly) supports it.
His problems aren't from ignorance, they're pretty common early adoption issues.

Read somewhere on the internet freedoms, that users of common (gaming not proffessional) cards will never be so lucky to use drivers working exactly. So in my humble opinion it not worth a coin. Thank you.

I'm also looking to buy new monitor instead of my 17 inch. (burned with lamp:) not quite sure it will be 4k.

YCbCr 4:2:2 is a form of compression and I covered that its not the "correct" way to fix the problem 1.4 Doesn't support 4K PERIOD END OF DISCUSSION

1.4 supports the above and baring any compression or tiling THATS IT

Your point was that HDMI 1.4 doesn't support 4K. I have proven otherwise.

Be more specific, stop misleading people without details of the facts you're trying to make. You're just as bad as everyone else. Also the 3840 version of 4K on HDMI 1.4 supports 30Hz.

Oh, and stop using capital letters, it makes you look like you're desperately trying to make a point without considering anyone else's opinion. Your signature is irrelevent. Frankly, if you're not going to be polite, you shouldn't bother helping.

Your point was that HDMI 1.4 doesn't support 4K. I have proven otherwise.
it doesn't support 4k UHD it supports 4096 × 2160 @ 24hz witch is what theaters run

3840 × 2160/4096 × 2160 @ 60 is never gonna happen over HDMI 1.4 without chorma compression witch is what is breaking SLI In that nvidia's work around was to take the chroma channel and use whats called sub sampling to compress the video stream this reduces the needed band-with and allows them to cheat the HDMI spec and you lose a fair chunk of quality doing so
at any rate the all the op needs todo is DROP ~300.00 on a one-connect box and then he can hook up with display-port frankly
this is partially nvidai's fault for adding that stupid work around instend of just saying YO 1.4 only supports 24Hz

UPDATE: Manuel is full of shit.
New driver came out and it still doesn't work.

What I'm saying is about SLI in 4k via hdmi 1.4.

Have you ever tried gaming @ 30hz?
It's not an option. It's garbage.

Well the GTX 970 & GTX 980 supports HDMI 2.0 out of the box which supports 4K@60Hz unlike HDMI 1.4

Will let ya know but I doubt it.
They have native hdmi 2.0 support.
If there is a problem I'm returning them both. XD
