$300 what card?

Well i just bought a 2nd hand pc with i5-4670k CPU without a GPU.
So, will be buying card worth $300, N after reading so many review, i kinda getting more confused on which one to buy... The pc will be running 24/7, n i dont have preferred brand, nvidia or ati are welcome...

And asking for opinions here won't relieve that confusion... :rolleyes:

Here's what matters:

1) What is the primary use of your PC?
2) Does power consumption matter?
3) Does cooling/noise matter?
4) Are you crunching or mining?

If it's purely gaming - it doesn't matter which brand you buy.
If it's crunching/mining, AMD might be better
If it's power consumption - Nvidia Kepler may be better
Noise/cooling - buy a custom card, Nvidia Kepler beats AMD R9 cards.

Finally, don't listen to trolls.

You can probably get a second hard 290(x) for that price.. if you want a not so new(refurb) card, newegg have a powercolor 290. Or you try and save about 80 bucs more and get a brand new 780, 290. If you can't do that you can get either a 770/280/285.

Wait for the new GTX 970/980 to come out in about 2 weeks. Not that I think that they will be in your price range, but they should push the rest of the market down.

Its not coming out in 2 weeks, I think they are just announcing it in 2 weeks. Near the end of this month.

Because your in Malaysia (According to your Profile) your going to have some different prices than what we can easily suggest depending on where you shop.

My advice is simple, at $300 bucks I would buy the best video card regardless of brand/vendor you can get. In America, the best card for $300 would be the R9 280X which is a great 1080p-1440p card at around $250-$300. But of course that depends on what is available to you and at what price.

I decided to go for 770 or 280x... But since somebody up there reminded me about power usage... (this pc will be running 24/7) i may go for lower power usage card...

*well for info the full set 2nd hand PC worth $750 if new, n i bought it at $400, the guy need $$$ only use it for 3-4 months, so i save $350 for a GPU

I went with MSI 770 Gaming, TPU give 9.8 rating here that y i bought it...
Replace my gtx670 with 770, the pc use 650w 80+ power supply with 4770k cpu.
Put my gtx670 into 4670k pc, mostly use for working and sometimes gaming... I guess it overkill for my job task. However, i like it cool and quite compare to my old Phenom X4...
Even my kids 6 yrs old can differentiate between good gaming pc with my old GT210 pc lol...

if you really want to save on bills you can also make do with a r7 260x 2GB variant. enough for 1080p.. but only just. very low consumption. i have a 7790 which is the same car basically and its consumption is only 85W lol.

In my place i need to add around $100 more to get the cheapest 780, well i almost did it. However, me and my kids don't need that kind of power GPU to game, beside I need an extra 1TB WD black HDD for my system.
So, i settled with 770 + HDD...

Here in the US the new 970 is easily the best high end card in bang for buck, and they start at just $330 even WITH aftermarket cooling (Zotac). The Zotac seems to be the only one that's not out of stock though.

That's the card I would get if at all possible though.

Oops, just noticed you already got one. If you didn't absolutely NEED a HDD, shoulda put it all on the GPU IMO.
