I think you should have suggested a build with a locked CPU as i don't think the OP is really into OC so the 4460+H97 would suffice. Then you could save more than 50 and cover the others, maybe put a gtx760 as he prefers nVidia. That prebuilt build is actually pretty well balanced compared to what prebuilt pcs usually are with R240 or GT730 videocards with insane amounts of memory.

I amended my suggestion for OC'ing and for not OC'ing

I have to agree with others and send it back and order one of the proposed builds that was posted here. You will have a better experience in building the machine and customizing what you want and also you will get more for your moneys

I taught myself how to build a pc in less than a day of you tube videos and websites etc. I had to ask so many questions (after I decided to build my own) with what parts go with what? will this work? What do you mean there are different sockets...What's a socket? You mean plug on the wall right?

Once I'd done all that research and saved up for the parts / buying them over 4 or 5 months.... The build took me less than 3 or 4 hours. And that's with going back to watch another you tube clip or reading the manuals.

To have someone pick out, price up and provide links to all the components is probably the hardest part done.
To quote someone earlier.." if you can use a Phillips screwdriver... you can build your own" You will be far more satisfied you did it yourself and the results will be better for the money.

AND you have access to all the knowledge anyone here has to help you at any point you feel lost.
I hope you build your own.. and we can help you.. but whichever you decide. Good luck.

I wouldn't get another Cyberpower PC. I've seen too much negative posted about them. The best path to take is to buy the parts and assemble the PC yourself. Set aside half a day and do it. If you buy a prebuilt PC then you can usually expect the PSU to be low quality and even if it will run that GTX 750 you might want to upgrade to a more powerful card during the time you own this PC and then you might have to replace the PSU anyway.

While I was deployed a buddy of mine ordered a cyberpowerpc laptop and it overheated constantly and within two months the PSU brick exploded. It was junk from the start.

How did you have the monitor screen connected? I saw a blue VGA connector on the picture, but also looked like there was ~also~ an HDMI cable plugged into the motherboard?
If you have HDMI connection then just use it alone and plug it into the GPU and not the motherboard.

TOTAL- with OC ability- $954.92 without OC ability- $874.92

Nice build, although I would go for an aftermarket cpu cooler and nvidia gpu instead of amd (as requested)
cooler: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produc...ermaster_hyper_212_evo-_-35-103-099-_-Product
budget gpu: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125507&cm_re=660_gtx-_-14-125-507-_-Product
or to max out games at 1080p for extra $$ ... http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125507&cm_re=660_gtx-_-14-125-507-_-Product

I realized what the problem likely is... The video card connects to the motherboards PCI-e x16 slot via a PCI-e x16 riser/ribbon cable. This likely came loose and is why the GTX 750 wasn't being detected.

Regardless, I returned the PC today at Best Buy. Got a full refund, even for the shipping. Ordered this one online:
http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product...spx?path=36c497acafff44f0a2902454e95d4177en02

Near identical specs but $10 more. Full-sized case, 2 TB HDD instead of 1 and the CPU is 3.3 GHz instead of 3.2. Not that it will be a big difference. I feel much better about this one as it's a full-sized case so easier to upgrade and it should't have the ribbon issue.

I really appreciate the build ideas, guys, but I just don't have the desire right now. CyperpowerPC are all "customs" so my plan is to have this as a start and slowly upgrade parts as I need to from there.

@brandonwh64
I heard the laptops are crap but the desktops are really good. Their desktops came highly recommended to me and the people I know haven't had such issues. Maybe he got a dud? Who knows but I am hoping for the best.

hate to rain the parade here BUT
its still a 750TI witch as I said above 720p is gonna be pretty crippled psu is most likely crap as well stock cooler sucks REALLY wish you could have found the time to do it your self you could have gotten twice the machine

nothing about cyberpower is custom its all off the shelf and cheap as they can possibly do components with a 30% mark up and upgradablity is non existent but if all you care about is ~30fps at medium settings then it will due nicely

I won a CyberPowerPC years ago in a contest. It was done well and lasted for years too.

there older stuff was fairly respectable now they are nearly as bad as alienware
the real problem is the price for the level of performance he is getting he could have done a lot better

Yeah, the PSU's are apparently horrible in the off-shelf PC's (Xtremegear PSU's apparently..). I have a couple of gift cards so I ordered a new PSU to put into the PC once it arrives. I realize I probably should have consulted you guys first but I read reviews for this PSU on newegg and they all seem favourable.
Got the: Cooler Master Extreme 2 Power Plus 725W ATX 12V Power Supply

Not sure what mobo is in the CyperpowerPC Xtreme GXi680 but I doubt I will have a problem.

see this is what I don't get you can install a GPU and change a power supply you can surely screw the motherboard into the case and plug the hard drives in and away you go
by the time you "upgrade your ~800.00 dollor cyberpower you could have just as well spent 700 and gotten a far better system with a lot more upgradablity

Well, OP if you have trouble with this Cyberpower PC and have to return it too then come back here and let's get you on a quality build and there are plenty of people here that can help you figure something out if you get stuck. Once you've assembled your own rig you will see how easy it is and you can know that you have quality parts.

Edit: If it's not too late to cancel the order on that 725 watt PSU you really don't need anymore than 500 watts for that PC.

... not to mention it's a 1 GB VRAM version. On the up side, at least games won't try to set texture options to high or ultra automatically.

if you decide to return the cyberpower and get a refund... which is frankly the best thing you should do.
you can come back here and have a PC setup and running in no time. BBSoul has already given you a component list. Building computers are nowhere as near as hard as it was a couple of decades ago. Its pretty much idiot proof as you can only plug things in one way. i.e. the correct way. The only thing thats considerable is fixing the products which you need. A list of which have been provided to you already.
Then you just need to put the cd in and follow instructions. watch a tutorial video before hand for avoiding any hassles.

Pretty much the max skill you need in assembling a PC is less than that required to drive a car.

Not everyone is meant to build their own or want to.

If you have a problem like this again...
Go to best buy set it up at The Geek Squad Desk and if they grab another for you Have it set up by them. By the way do you have the monitor plugged in where the pcie slots are or where the io shield is where the usb ports are

+1 that too. having someone build it will also be quite cheaper and totally worth the money unlike these pre made ones. i too made the mistake of buying a pre made pc... but fortunately its hardware was good enough and cheap enough.

Not sure what mobo is in the CyperpowerPC Xtreme GXi680 but I doubt I will have a problem.

It's under warranty for a time, but if you replace the PSU, it may void that warranty.

there older stuff was fairly respectable now they are nearly as bad as alienware
the real problem is the price for the level of performance he is getting he could have done a lot better

I understand that. When you build your own system, you get a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction if the build goes OK.
If you know what brands to buy and where to get them, you save significant money and you're rewarded with speed and stability too.

I'm proud of my builds, every time I do it. I take the time to manage cables and go for (at the least) a small degree of color coordination.
They look pretty good too.

But he decided to buy a retail box, his choice.

To the OP: We will be glad to walk you through all of the steps to properly build your own system whenever you decide to try it out. (any upgrades too)
Try to consult us before you buy any pieces for it. We can help with compatibility issues.

I have already returned the PC that had the GPU issue. Got another one from the same brand (CyperpowerPC), bought a PSU to replace the one in it because it's apparently not that good in terms of quality. PC and PSU should come tomorrow. All of their "better" stuff is Online Only so it sucks that I can't just return it in store and get a new one right away.

What likely happened to the first PC was, the video card connect's to the motherboard's PCI-e x16 slot via a PCI-e x16 riser/ribbon cable. The part of the ribbon cable attached to the riser may have come loose from the video card itself. I couldn't get the case open easily, which was odd as I have opened PC cases before so it's not that I am an idiot. Didn't want to use more force because if anything happened, I can't return it to Best Buy. I was plugging the monitor to the PC properly, tried both the HDMI cable and the one that came with the monitor. The GPU was just not functioning, likely because of what I mentioned earlier. Under device manager, it wouldn't show up. Only under hidden devices, I'd get the code 45 for it.

Wanted to have Geek Squad open it up yesterday and just reseat the GPU/make sure the ribbon cable is attached properly....they wouldn't open it because of the 14 days. Just told me to return it. I didn't want to bother with it anymore so that's what I did. The new one has basically the same specs, just a full sized case, slightly different CPU (still an i5) and an extra 1 TB HDD space.

If I have issues with this one, too, fingers crossed I don't, I'll just return it and take a serious look at building my own as per suggestions on here.

Sent CyperpowerPC an email with respect to the new PSU I bought, waiting on a response but I know they don't care if people open the case because they say "our PC's are 'custom' builds and meant to be upgraded". And they actually advise getting a new PSU should your PC come with one of their standard PSU's. Which all off-shelf ones basically do.

Thanks for the replies, guys.
