Hi guys.

I got big dilemma right now.
Planning to buy Windows 8 2in1 device, but as i watch forecast, sunshine is on the way!
Its totally worth waiting if you wana get new tablet or so.

Benchmarks for Intel core M are not out yet, though comparing those 2 processors.

Nvidia has 28nm process.... Intel is going to be new 14nm

Nvidia will have 192 cuda cores for GPU though, while intel only 24.

Guys what do you think? Will Intel beat Nvidia?
Or should i go for Nvidia?

Unless you need a line of business application with compatibility for windows, use an android, or even....apple

As of right now, today, only one, being the number one whole real place above zero is the total number of tablet/pad devices that will feature the K1, and that isn't available yet and then only in Asian market, on a unknown manufacturers brand with no support, the Tegra series were complete and utter crap...

And now the hissy fit that Nvidia is throwing about big players treating them like the step child in this market they are, Qualcomm, ARM, and Samsung using AMD/ATI technology is the standard right now, and they are still playing a generation ahead of where Nvidia is.

They sure were, however K1 is a different beast - just look at the shield tablet benchmarks.

yep, $300 for a tablet, that you also need a $60 controller for, and if you want to play more than basic android games you need a Nvidia GPU, or you may use Steam in home streaming except....you have to do more work configuring controller support. You can game, for 3 hours, and it gets hot. You can't charge while using it. 6 hours of movies is all you get.

Still not refined, still power hungry, still a LOT of specifics.

I played GTA from my 5870 to my Intel 4000 series graphics with the same controller between windows 7 to windows 8 across wifi with no issues at all, and could charge my laptop, and it didn't get hot decoding MP4 video.

Right now I can plug a 360 controller into my S5. Costs a couple bucks.

Or your wireless controller, and USB charging, and mass storage devices.

So again, the Shield is a one trick pony, phones...phones already surpass it for the most part, just not expense, and that tiny bit more of GPU power.

That says more about whole product than the SoC. We shall see with Nexus 9 that is rumored to be built around 64-bit K1

It has more to do with the K1 being more power hungry during operation than what a standard USB cable is capable of delivering, and not being a SoC, as they have to integrate ARM IP to do their work.

Here Nvidia compares their not yet available chip (vaporware) with prior models of the competition.

So here is the benchmark from a 2955 in Geekbench in Linux. http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench2/2451149

Below is mine from an app, in linux/android differences being the CPU improvements and increased clock speeds.

And would you look at that, I managed to charge while running these benchmarks, something a K1 is NOT capable of currently, if it were available in more than the Shield.

The choice isn't valid. You won't be choosing a K1 Windows 8 device because it won't exist - Windows RT is dead.
Are you sure? Cause i just wanted to get a device where i could plaly League of Legends though, and tablets like Asus Transformer are good choice, though actual processor is too low, K1 or Core M could be much better

K1 means no League of legends. K1 is an ARM based CPU that will run Windows Phone/RT 8.1/9 or whatever Microsoft comes up with. Core M will run Windows 8.1x64/9x64 which is the full desktop OS that you use on a computer. The RT/Phone one doesn't support application other than those from the Microsoft store and Desktop games will never be available, only the games which are playable on any other Android/IOS tablet right now, at most or maybe less than that.
