You can put them in crossfire however they will probably kill your PSU.

For sure you can crossfire them.. I find with my 290's you want the clocks to be the same or weird stuttering happens when the slower clocked card renders.

And no a 750 is underpowered.. It will run at stock but the question is HOW LONG!!?

And good for you on lapping your cooler.. I'd do it on my MSI gaming tfiv cooler bit it would be way to awkward to say the least. Just give XFX a call and ask them. I believe there in California and they always answer..

The reason I say your 750,won't handle it is I had a 850hx and the little brother cards compared to yours and I was pulling over 1kw at times benching.

No it will not void the warranty as long as you do not break the card in the process. You can even change out the cooler if you like.

Would somebody with R9 290 or 290x be kind to run Stalker: Call of Pripyat benchmark with the settings as shown in the attached pic and tell me what their sunshaft min fps score is, thank you.

Guys is there a way to get more then +100mv in afterburner? I can get +200mv when using Trixx.

Just done it on mine and on sun shfats I got

Min - 81.4fps
Avg - 153.9fps
Max - 231.3fps

I'm CPU limited too, even with a 4.8Ghz 3770k!

Thank you, the engine Stalker series are build on is using only one core, so you are limited by the frequency and architecture of the #1 core of your CPU.
I sold my SLI waiting for Friday to decide if i go for a cheap 290x or a GTX970.

What system did you run the benchmark on?

I know, my 3770k is a 5Ghz stable chip so I have an extra 200Mhz in reserve should I feel I need it.

There isn't. Really the only benefit that AB has is control over the aux voltage si config the aux in AB and use Trixx for everything else.

Guys does anyone of you have a Sapphire R9 290X Vapor-X [11226-09-40G] (1080/5640 MHz)? Could you please upload both BIOSes of this model (or at least a UEFI one) somewhere? I can't find them anywhere, the TPU database also doesn't have them, and I don't understand why! This model was first released in April 2014, and I doubt no one tried to upload its BIOSes to TPU. Does TPU intentionally hides them? It's like a conspiracy all over the net. :confused:

Why do you need that BIOS. It's incompatible with all cards but the Vapor-X cards.

So decided to upgrade drivers today and spent the better part of four hours on what should have been a five minute job.
14.9.2, 14.9.1, 14.9 and 14.8 all give me black screen within five seconds of logging into Windows.
I went back to 14.4 and had no problems.

Also, anyone done any GPU scaling with these cards? I don't use CCC so haven't had a chance to try it. I am curious about upscaling HDTV/1080p movies to be better viewed on higher res displays.

I think it's irrelevant (and btw, I have a Vapor-X card).

The question is why TPU doesn't have these BIOSes. I mean don't you think it's rather strange that there's not a single R9 290X Vapor-X BIOS in the TPU database when even much newer GTX 970/980 BIOSes are easily available?

Well, I bought new computer with ASUS Radeon R9 290X DirectCU II OC... and had to return it to warranty straight afterwards.
The moment I tried to install graphics drivers, PC (i7-4790k, MSI Z97 Gaming 7, Corsair AX860i, Samsung 850 Pro 512GB, 2TB WD Black, Fractal ARC Midi R2) hanged up, artefacted, etc.
I tried everything. Same reaction.
Oh well, month of waiting, assuming warranty return gets accepted. At least the old 6870 works perfectly, while I wait.

Yup i had the exact same experience... returned the 280x and got a 290. No problems since, the 280x are known to have artifacts for some odd reason. I tried everything and could not fix it.
