That's my biggest dream - Guns of Patriots on PC. This game was the reason I bough PlayStation in the first place.

I also want it badly... the only MGS I haven't played so far... I played even PSP MGS, it was really good, and BTW PSP emulators are quite capable now and it is playable on pc nicely too now... story wise it will offer to understand everything better...

The video... it had boob physics...? Kojima the best lol...

Guns of Patriots was supposed to be the closing game of MGS series, but it was such a big success, that Kojima decided to keep going.
Almost everything that came out after MGS4 is just plain mainstream (including MGS: Revengeance which I did not like).
Hopefully this game will be just as good as its predecessor, if videos and press-releases did not lie.

MGS4 is the closing game. MGS5 depicts events after Peace Walker. And Kojima said he never wanted to stop. There will be MGS games after Phantom Pain.

Almost everything that came out after MGS4 is just plain mainstream (including MGS: Revengeance which I did not like).
There's only one game that came after MGS4, it's Peace Walker. And they worked on Peace Walker and MGS4 simultaneously, Kojima even wanted to call it MGS5 but changed his mind. And it's not mainstream at all. It's a classic MGS game just like MGS3, Portable Ops or the Twin Snakes. Revengence got nothing to do with MGS. It's from Metal Gear Rising series. (spinoff).

Raiden is biggest Kojimas fail since MGS2... period... simply gay... well actually if we remember Snake Eater :D
Why is he? Raiden is fine. He did pretty good job in Sons of Liberty, even Solidus was impressed. Never understood the hate. The only problem with MGS2 is the lack of levels with Snake.

I've played through the main MGS titles but never heard the JPN voice actors
The original MGS on PSX had Japanese voice actors. I never played it though.

His attitude like a born loser, actually Kojima makes fun of it, if we look at Snake Eater ending bloopers lol.

The whole concept about Rose and the plot line around him wasn't very appealing to me. Not enough old good snake indeed...

Metal Gear Online?
I've played Peace Walker when my PSP was still alive, and while the game was decent, it was definitely not the 9.5/10 title, as it was praised everywhere.
And while MGS: Portable Ops was already out, Conami started an intense ad campaign for it about 2 months after MGS4 came out (I did not even know about its existence until then).

MGSR on the other hand might not be directly related to MGS story, but it is still a Kojima Prod. title and it still below any reasonable expectations.

Raiden's attitude was kinda annoying at times, but he tried to do his best just like Solid Snake did in the Twin Snakes. And by making Raiden the way he was actually gave a good contrast between him and Snake. Plus, Raiden saved Snake's life in MGS4.

@ silentbogo
I agree that Revengence universe isn't groundbreaking but then again nobody expected more from that slasher, it's not a bad game though.

You know, I was psyched for this at first, and assuming it was going to be an immersive, tactical shooter. I saw an extensive gameplay trailer yesterday done in Japan with the devs discussing it in their language, and I had mixed feelings about it.

The invisible chick, forgot her name, seems strange. They show her leaping down toward a bunch of soldiers going in and out of invisibility as if taunting them, then later kicking up dust as she whisks around. Why be invisible if you're going to leave an obvious trail of dust?

Snake has a cool suit and some wicked rock climbing animations, but then they've got this silly ass change clothes in a box that's dropped down thing happening, and everyone he kills or captures, even his horse when he's done riding it, are lifted up after he attaches a big balloon to them.

Yeah I know this is just a game, but when parts of the game are tactical, then you have this over the top silly arcade stuff thrown in that even the devs are just sitting there laughing, at, it seems to send a mixed message and lose a lot of potential immersion and seriousness.

I never know what to think of Japanese developed games. They seem to have a mix of brilliant ideas and ones that IMO just don't fit. Then there's the clumsy controls a lot of them use. Hopefully this game as a whole plays better than what I saw in that gameplay demo.

Quiet is not invisible. She can dematerialize.

Yeah, and she pretty much goes invisible when she does, so.

I didn't say it hadn't. I obviously am new to this IP, but on the outside it's always had the appearance of a tactical shooter. Now that I look at it more, on the inside it appears to be quite a bit stranger than that.

It's never been a shooter. It was always a tactical espionage adventure/action game. Sneaking operations and CQC is the core of the gameplay. In Snake Eater and Twin Snakes killing doesn't even make sense. In Portable Ops and Peace Walker you're supposed to recruit soldiers and not kill them. Lol there are videos on youtube "how you shouldn't play MGS games"

Well I recently played revengeance and while it's no mgs it's not as bad as I expected as in its ok not great most annoying bit is it's predictable ie fight one big boss thing then five minutes later you face three of them ,gay.
I don't like the phantom pain title though sounds a bit red flag time for ladies but hey ho cant wait because I only played 1&2 so shit yeah I d love a compilation too

The PS1 game was pretty good but I haven't liked any of them since, the plots are too zany. Also why is invisagirl wearing a load bearing vest and a bikini?

Kojima is a quirky guy. the gameplay in the series is terrific but the story is really over the top (anime).

i'm glad they kept that in the Gamecube version lol

I agree with BumbleBee. Psycho Mantis battle is iconic, especially the GameCube version. You had to change ports 4 times!!!

Xbone? PS4? What's that? :rockout:

I've been buying less and less console games lately, only console getting love is my Wii U and even that's just because I have Super Metroid installed. Bayonetta 2 is the shit though.
