2nd GTX 780Ti or GTX 970 SLI?

So I'm thinking of just getting 2 GTX 970s because of there price even know i know there slower than a 780Ti but I'm thinking of moving away from water on my GPU as i don't overclock my cards never have, The reason i went water on my 780Ti was when i had a mini-ITX build and it was the only way i could cool the card, Any input would be nice thanks.

My vote is another 780ti. The 970's are amazing, but if you're going SLi anyway...

Maybe wait for people trying to get rid off their used 780 Tis, or merchants trying to clear inventory, then SLI 780 Ti.

It doesn't seem like the extra vram matters to much when looking at the benchmarks? If i do go with a 780ti i probably go back to air on both cards or it will create to much heat in my current loop setup ?

if i may add that maybe u should have gone for 980 sli coz they support direct x12 so u would have all upcoming games supporting all the new eye candys thats coming...

Yer i would stick with the ACX but the card i just brought is just a plan blower cooler so i have odd cards lol.

Guess this is news to you but all Nvidia DX11 cards will support DX12 , Which is why i never bothered upgrading to a 980.

Note the last dot point , Also DX12 is a year away so probably upgrade by then any ways will go GTX 980Ti

But its a year away any ways by then better gear will be out.

really there is not a whole lot of performance difference between the 980 and the 780ti .. YET
that's gonna change when the full functionality of the cards are unlocked with new drivers

Do you think my loop would take it Hammer? I changed my mind I'm going to find a card with the same cooler so i cancelled the other one before he sent it off, I would like to watercool both but i dont want to add a 2nd Rad.

Most definitely. 33 load on CPU and GPU looks like lots of room to me.

I wish my load temps where 33c where are you reading that from lol, Maximum is the load temp after finished a 30min stress test .

Oh I see. Well max 43 on GPU is fine, 68 for CPU is below average. How dense is the FPI on that radiator? I think your loop might handle the extra heat, but things might start operating at around basic air temps instead of super low.

Its dense its just not like those really think rads, I want to be able to overclock my CPU as well probably around 4.4Ghz I'm hopping to get out of it.

Rule of thumb is 120.1 per part, plus 120.1 for headroom. With CPU+GPU+GPU you really ought to be looking at 120.1 x 4 worth of radiator, and you currently only have 120.1 x 3 with that 360 rad. You can probably get away with it, perhaps with marginal overclocking, but I personally would either look at adding at least a single 120 rad or switching to 480 or 2 x 240 rads.

Tubing won't help as much as you think. I switched from 7/16" ID to 1/2" ID and didn't actually see any temperature differnce.

May as well. It's not like it won't run and shut down due to temps. It's just going to operate close to normal air temps I reckon. It's easy enough to drop a rad in anyway.
