I flashed my DCII-7970 with Ati flash, I downloaded the program and the bios in www.techpowerup.com. Then, the graphic is not working now, it does not show video, all PC's parts turn on but there iss not video.
I have another video card working good and I put the good grafic card in the first PCI-E and the DCII-7970 in the second PCI-E. then, I tried to flash again and there was still some problems.
I tried two time more and now the program does not let me do it, happens a error.
I have to say that I didn't have the original bios, I didn't save it, I know I made a big mistake.

I need to know how can I do to flash well the graphic and if it's possible I need the original DCII-7970's bios.

Never use atiflash... imho atiwinflash is much safer...I have a r7 260X (asus oc edition) with a screwy bios which i flashed with a bios rom found in the Guru3D forums.

I followed this guide for flashing my card (ASUS R7260X DC2OC 2GD5)
http://www.overclock.net/t/1353325/tutorial-atiwinflash-how-to-flash-the-bios-of-your-ati-cards
http://www.overclock.net/t/1353325/tutorial-atiwinflash-how-to-flash-the-bios-of-your-ati-cards

You can disregard the bios switch step in the beginning..asus cards have only one bios.

You will have to find the correct bios rom for your card.:)

jose I swear you tell one more person to use atifwinflash I am gonna beat you senseless you frankly don't have a clue what you are talking about ..

@ op you need the original bios for your card
and odds are you have managed to brick the card to the point where atiflash isn't going to be-able to save you if atiflash -ai is not listing the card anymore
post the output of the command atiflash -ai
here
thankfully ASUS does provide a link to the bios on there site
http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/HD7970DC2T3GD5/HelpDesk_Download/
you may need to run the installer and then figure out how to extract the bios file and flash it manually
else you can try this bios

Hello OneMoar,
Can you explain better ati -ai?
Do you think can I repair my card?
Do you know where can I get the original DC-II7970's bios?
Note: The DCII-7970 was 925mhz. I think is the normal version of DCII-7970.

Best way to recover is to flip the BIOS switch on the card to default one, flip the switch back to failed lash state while its running and then repeat the flash. You'll boot the card with stock settings but you'll actually be flashing the failed one, because the switch physically relays the BIOS connections.

OneMoar let me know if I am right
I have to boot from a USB Flash DIsk with Atiflash 3.95 or 4.17 in it.
But I only have to write atiflash -ai?, how do I select the card to flash in this way?
Remember that I have to put 2 card because the DCII-7970 does not show video. I think that I'm required to use two cards to can see.
Other detail, when I was flashing I flashed the card in the two switches, I didn't know that one is locked. The card is not working in any switches
One last question, Do I have to use two equal cards or can I put any card in the first PCI-E.

Hello Rejzor,
When I was flashing I flashed the card in the two switches, I didn't know that one is locked. The card is not working in any switches
What should I do?

This is why those that don't know what there doing should not mess with flashing BIOs. Card is probably bricked now. Altho there is a small chance it can be force flashed.,

good think I stopped back in
those win flash instructions will flash the primary card he does that then hes really gonna be up a shit creek with out a paddle come on reaper check your links ...
its why I said he needs to use atiflash -AI to ensure hes flashing the correct adapter I know dam well his English isn't good enough to read and understand they he needs to make sure hes trying to flash the correct card witch is probly why its no longer accepting flash because whatever batch file hes using is configured to flash -p0 and that adapter no longer exists or is showing up as the wrong bios checksum and atiflash is aborting it

yea but the op isn't gonna know todo that he would have followed the tut to the letter and ended up with two dead cards because the instructions in that post use -f witch forces it what was most likely happening before is that after he rendered the primary card un-readable and installed the other one ati flash was selecting the WORKING card as id 0
the op so far has yet to post his exact model code so without that there is know way of knowing exactly what he has there is 4 kinds of DCUII 7970's and two different brands of memory chip used

regardless the DCUII 7970s were problematic to begin with with a great deal of issues false marketing etc. Not my problem dude has issue with english also not my problem if he did something blind and bricked his card. Its done at users risk after all.

open a RMA with ASUS send the card in for repair if atiflash isn't listing both cards then there is no possibility for you to repair it

Have the working card in the top PCI-E slot and the card to be flashed in PCI-E slot #2.

Boot with ATiFlash

Enter this:
c:/atiflash -f -p 1 "originalbiosname".rom (-no quotes. Use the name of the actual bios.)

Done.

FYI: 1 = slot #2 and 0 = slot #1

Was i talking to a wall by any chance? These newer Radeon cards have BIOS switch for a reason and with it, you don't even need a second graphic card to recover the card to original state. You can even extract the backup BIOS with GPU-Z and flash it to location of your failed BIOS. Meaning you don't even have to search for "the right BIOS", because you already have it there in front of you.

Isn't one bios always locked on all brands with bios switch?
If your card doesn't work on either bios, chances are you fried your memory with the flashing of a wrong bios.
As stated before, same versions from the same brand can have different memory chips used.
Now I don´t know if this is even possible, but 2 biosses that don´t work seems pretty bad.

Either way, your defective card in the second slot will be 1 indeed. 0 is for the first slot thus your primary videocard.
You could try all DCII 7970 biosses, so you can eliminate the wrong ones, nothing to loose now.

http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=373744 here you can also find a clear tutorial from Deathchild.

I booted from usb stick and ran atiflash.exe -f -p 0 ghzbios.rom
For you it would be atiflash.exe -f -p 1 ghzbios.rom where the rom name is ofcourse what you named it.

You can use any usb installer, I used a linux one. Just as long as the program creates a bootable usb drive-stick
you can copy the bios files to it and after that reboot and enter boot menu, then select usb drive to boot from.
To make it real simple you could name the bios files 1.rom, 2.rom etc.
Well, you get the picture.

If all this fails, and your card simply isn´t recognized by the system, then it´s dead and you need to rma it, that is if you think it´s worth the hassle and wait.
Goodluck.
