because of the need, I m going to build a workstation for work.
but it really hard to decide which mb is the best under $250
look for the price and most of spec, I may think the msi x99 sli plus will be the good choice
here I get three x99 mbs

1) msi x99s sli plus
this one get most useful spec I need, and the price is the cheapest
and I heard that m.2 and sata-e on the msi x99 mb can be work at same time?
anyone knows that??
any way, this one get gen3*4 on the m.2 spec, same with asrock

2) ASRock X99 Extreme4
this one is great too, also with gen3*4 m.2, but less usb 3.0 onboard.
and mail-in rebate on the newegg...(I will get all my stuff on newegg, so the mail-in rebate will be a problem)

3) GIGABYTE GA-X99-UD3
well, havent seen any special tech on the gigabyte x99 mbs, asus get oc socket, msi get stream engine, but gigabyte get nothing..( I believe gigabyte is work on the oc socket *giga version" now, but dont know when it gonna release), anyway, this mb should be the cheapest and value mb on the gigabyte x99 platform.

what you guys think?

the cpu I am going with i7-5820k
and, I think I will go get 2x 980 graphic for sli build

My vote goes to the Asrock Extreme4. Planning on building a rig for my buddies concert and show lighting design workstation with the micro atx version.

I think giving you any recommendation without knowing what the board will be used for or what kind of workload will be placed on it would be a hard call.

I think from your description, you're building a gaming machine, but that's me.

Well, what are you going to do while your video renders? Queued up 3 videos to render for work yesterday, popped into my game while they did their thing :)
