What are your future GPU plans?

No plans i picked don't see it worth it for another 28nm, and to be honest for what games are out there my 6970 would of got me this far except 1 game ( WD ). I can see it being a long time if i bother again for whats out there gaming wise just no need as 10% -20% means shit really.

Power usage is just getting stupid as well.

Isn't it customary for a store to book the items that someone orders regardless if the payment is received or not? I mean, within a certain period of course.

Normally yes, but the order isn't handled until the money is received. I can't even check my order placement. I paid with bank transfer from a foreign country (Belgium to the Netherlands) and there was no option to pay with credit card

I saw a similar situation with the same shop on another forum (granted, it did date from a couple years back).

I pretty much need to upgrade, but the highend is not my territory. I am a midrange player and pretty much vary of power consumption. I went from C2Q to Haswell due to this and will go Maxwell due to this. Something in the range of 750Ti just from the 9 series, don't want to buy a surrogate graphics card, that has nothing to do with the 7xx series. 950/Ti it is then. I want the lowest idle/destop/browser consumption i can get and that is nvidia territory.

Waiting for the 2nd generation after Radeon 2xx series, so that would probably be 4xx.
Ofc I would like a better card, but realistically I don't really need it for quite a while, that, and budget considerations

Going for an AMD card instead of an Nvidia one because personal reasons combined with the gap not being big enough(yet?).

There isn't any serious game around...

I'll wait for Witcher 3 and see the benchmarks... that will give me the judgment what kind of card I need.

Second factor is the gossip around directx 11.3 and 12... there may be possibility that these maxwell can turn EOL in a flash due to M$ intentions with their api.

And still no 28nm chip again... no matter what kind of brand...

So... I rather cautious now...

I'm in a big need of GPU update, really like 970 performance. Maybe in few month 970gtx or (960gtx) or something from Amd.
thinking of z97+G3258+8Gb ram + new GPU. Something price/performance budged minded.

im quite happy with my GPU currently,
which is an ancient 9600GT 512MB
play all my needed games fluently, plays 1080p flawlessly, and silent too..

as for the 750M on my laptop, its a little tiny beast, eats almost everything i throw at it
albeit only at 1366x768

I just purchased 2 290x's (A reference sapphire and an XFX DD) for about $300 each. The reference sapphire is going underwater with an EK block soon.

Although I'd like lower power consumption, no desire to change.

Still happy with my 580. Just wish it was the 3GB one, but I bought it on launch day and they weren't available then. Playing Skyrim with custom high-res texture packs fills up the 1.5GB pretty quickly.

In January I dumped on a Z87, 4770K overclocked, 16gb of ram and 4 SSD's to raid, new case (RVZ-01) PSU... basically the lot except for the gfx cos I wanted to see what nvidia did, so glad I waited. a 970 seems a perfect upgrade from the admirable 670.

Would not surprise me in the slightest if Nvidia made a GTX990 (basicaly a 690 but with GM104's) in fact it would surprise me if they didn't, they already have the design ready to go.

Also, would like to hold out for a card that can run smoothly with a 4K or 21:9 1440p display using G-Sync or DisplayPort 1.2a.

None of the above. 970 is tempting, but I'll wait for AMDs response, then will decide. Until then, I'll stick to my R9 280X, R9 270X, and 7850 in the various PCs in my house.
