Q9450 cpu- $30 Sold! This normally runs at 2.66Ghz. It spent it's life for 6 months at 3.0Ghz in my son's old 750i SLI FTW, and then got it successfully stable at 3.4Ghz in a GA-EP45-UD3P, where it happily ran for 8 months at 1.312v. It's a tough nut to crack on overclocking, but if you want some old-school fun, have at it! (Shipping flat rate envelope $6.00)

Do agree with your opinion of the 580. I had a 580 SOC from Gigabyte. I can say that by quite a margin that it was the BEST card I have EVER owned. I'm regretting selling it now tbh haha.

Yep, ddr1! It's the last of it. this Ultra ddr was good. I had them running at 220 (that would be ddr 440 I believe), with no extra voltage. And at stock lighting speed timings!

What do you have for a Xeon?

775-771 mod advice:
1. Use a hot knife to cut the tabs in the 775 socket so you don't need much force (one slip and you could ruin a bunch of pins)
2. Have a pair of needle-nose tweezers and a really good loupe (aka strong magnifying glass) to install the adapter patch

The better adapters have sticky pads at each end. If not, some really small patches of double sided tape will work, but are a bitch to install.

The most nerve wracking part (I think) was getting the adapter patch on correctly.
