I don't like the looks of most of those "full length" GTX970s, awful lot of wasted PCB... =P
For the record, Palit GTX970 vanilla has the same PCB as the Jetstream version.

many vendors use the full lengths for phases not like EVGA that looks like not need the use for full length pcb...

EVGA re-used an old board design - albeit with some PWM components missing compared to the GTX 760 board it is based on. I guess re-using an existing board design is cost effective even if it uses a bit more plastic and copper.

Ebuyer was due some MSI 970s in today but had a look this morning and no due date anymore. In the meantime Scan has got some in. So I cancelled another order and will be popping into scan on my way home to pick one up.

My experiences with Palit cards have certainly put me off buying another - I had 2 regular and 1 sonic HD4850s fail on me. The Sonic lasted the longest (just over a year so couldn't RMA it)

Never buy Palit or Zotac garbage. Gigabyte, ASUS, MSI, Gainward (i know it's Palit's sister company but they don't release junk for some reason) you can't go wrong with these. EVGA is already weird here and there, special warranty or not...

Got my 970 powered up - anyone else tried GPU-Z? It is reporting only 32 ROPs. I did see this on another site reviewing a 970 as well

I'm really hoping to get my hands on an EVGA 980 superclocked acx 2.0 bios.

Here is a version of nvflash that works with Maxwell. You need to unload your GPU driver to flash the card. I've done it and it works.

Please note, that while KBT seems to open Maxwell 2.0 bios, it does not read or write them correctly, resulting in a certification failure. So at this time we can only flash other official bios from manufacturers.

Will try flashing my card later, I can only add +6% to the TDP as it's a short reference board.

Any good? I Was looking at the OC version with the twin fans, looked similar to the other non-reference semi-passive designs.

I'm amazed how good the cool this things run - a factory supplied card running at 60°C in games? Unbelieveable. I was playing elite dangerous last night at the fans were completely stopped half the time.

Lol main reason was because of my case layout... The Coolermaster HAFX case comes with these fan shrouds and every time I get after market cooler they always interfere with the fan shrouds. I can take the shrouds off but that means no fan plus I like the look of them

This reference card should do me for now :toast:

It's not the best looking GTX 970 but I ain't fussed :rockout:

Seems too be running fine so far although I do hear a little coil whine but at least the reference fan isn't loud. Wanted too get that aftermarket Galaxy card but the cooler was a bit too long & like I stated above, it would of interfered with my fan shroud which I didn't wanna give up

Gainward Phantom GTX970 arrived yesterday, there it is next to my backup 8800GTX. Shadow of Mordor is at Ultra. Noise at load is higher than a MSI 280x TwinFrozer but lower than a GTX660 Windforce.
Thinking of removing the stock fans and adding two Coolink 80mm fans i have to see if i could get lower temps, will test it out this weekend. If you have questions please ask.

Ive noticed that the lastest (and greatest??) driver keeps crashing & going into recovery with some videos when i have windows media player open with some avi's. Not sure if its because ive been running my PC for at least 24hrs.

Nothing quite like that on my end, I install klite codec pack and run videos through MPC though as it's stable and allows all sorts of crazy adaptive sync options

I've successfully flashed my Blower style cooled Palit GTX970 with the BIOS from the Palit GTX970 Jetstream without issue and now have Jetstream clocks, voltage and tdp limits
