Problem with my BFG GTS 250 OC

Hey fellas,

My main gpu was creating issues for some days so i decided to replace it with my back gpu that is BFG GTS 250 OC. I installed this card in cpu and switched on. First screen showed card info then it comes to bios logo and there it crashes the display. HDD light keeps working but nothing displays after this. A long weekend is up here and I am stuck with the bad display.

Please help in this regard folks.

sounds like when windows takes over, its routing the display to another output. make sure no other video cables are connected, hook monitor up to IGP/other video outputs to see if its gone to one of them.

Remembered to fully uninstall previous drivers when "Main gpu" was installed and deep clean; before fitting the BFG GTS 250 OC

Note: are able to boot in to windows safe mode?

With igp i am able to boot with display but not with my BFG.

maybe it was your PSU failing and not the GPU? i suspect it cant power the cards anymore.

But the same psu was powering 6850 which I suppose more power hungry than 250 gts.

gts250 consumes more power than a HD6850

faster doesnt mean it consumes more power.
my previous GTS450 is half as powerful as my HD7790 but it consumes 2 times more power than the 7790!

so this is what was done: Yes / No

*Uninstalled drivers using express uninstall from control panel programs and features [while HD 6850 was installed]
booted into motherboard bios screen and powered down the system
removed the HD 6850 from the motherboard

Installed NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 into the motherboard
booted windows allowed windows to recognise new hardware
installed driver

Note: ensured the GTS 250 is primary device in motherboard bios

**if above fails test NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 in another system

Try safe mode. Maybe the resolution is not supported

if the IGP works in windows but not the dedicated one, then the dedicated card is either not working, or its being relegated to a secondary GPU - for example, there are BIOS settings that control which card is the primary - set it to PCI-E or PEG, whatever your BIOS calls it.
