Asus MSI or Lenovo are all great brands.
ASUS is expensive but has great cooling.
Lenovos are good all around.
MSIs have great specs but have a cheap feel to them and them with squeaky keyboards and crappy bodies.

If I had to get a gaming laptop the best place in the UK would be Scan with their 3XS custom gaming laptops which would be better on price per performance in comparison to any pre-made laptop that can be picked up from a normal retailer.

Unfortunately I'm more of a desktop PC gamer and I have looked into this for myself before and I found Scan's custom laptops by general price and hardware performance was the best choice.

Nobody can predict the future. Mobile GPUs 99% of the time are not identical to their fully fledged counterparts under the same name/model number and are cutdown and possibly downclocked to make sure it dont overheat and melt a hole through your desk.

if you want future proofing, then youre gonna have to though a good 2-3grand on it just to make sure its kitted up to the teeth with the BEST loadout thats currently available to man to make sure that it will keep you goin the next 3-4years.

Then again - it all depends on what type of games you play.

I second Sager and for semi- & fully ruggedized hardware, I'd throw in Gammatech too (pretty sure they make Panasonic's "Toughbook"). Gammatech is not so good in the gaming department though.
