Since its release in the summer of 2011, the Macho is undoubtedly the first choice for hardware enthusiasts who are looking for a very powerful and quiet CPU cooler. Now, the favorite Thermalright cooler of all times is available in a Special Edition for silent fans. True to its motto "innovate - don't imitate," Thermalright consequently improves on the original cooler concept and implements suggestions by their fan base. The result is a further optimized cooler which is not only improved in terms of its looks.

The cooler is presented in a stylish "Black Nickel Design" and thus stands out from the "gray" mass of CPU coolers. The copper heatpipes and the mounting kit are also black nickel plated. In connection with the black anodized Top Fin the cooler offers a probably unique elegant appearance. The main focus of the Macho Zero was ultra-quiet operation. The cooler is accordingly not equipped with a fan.

For the introduction into the market, the cooler is bundled with a 120 or 140 mm fan duct for semi-passive operation. Thus, the user can fit the cooler according to their desires. Whether you want to use the cooler in passive mode, combine it with a fan duct for semi-passive operation or use it in active mode combined with a suitable fan - everything's possible.

A special feature of the Macho Zero is the redesigned base plate of the heat sink. Like with the "IB-E" flagships Silver Arrow and Archon X2 it now is much larger (53 x 40 mm) and has been optimized for state-of-the-art multicore processors, like the new Intel Core i7 models.

Included is the universal mounting kit for all current AMD and Intel sockets, the famous and very popular Thermalright Screwdriver with its magnetic tip, one pair each of black anodized fan brackets and white cotton cloves, and a 2 gram syringe of the outstanding Chill Factor 3 thermal grease.

For now, the Thermalright Macho Zero will be offered in combination with a 120 mm or 140 mm fan duct exclusively on Mindfactory.de. From mid-December the cooler will be available in stores all over Europe.

If the review linked from the manufacturer page is anywhere near accurate, this heatsink is incredibly good. It performs among the top coolers semi-passively (with a ducted case fan, not direct-moutned fan). Pleae get one for review, TPU!

I still use a thermalright cooler, its been on 4 different computers including X79 and still performs great. One of the best investments I ever made for the computer.

Its good to see they are still making stuff, I cant find any thermalright coolers available locally.

I want one. Even an older Macho Zero model would due just fine. This would be perfect for my new Core i7 5820K / X99 setup,....

I don't know, a cooler that size may not be Macho enough.

Massive cooler, would love to see one up close.

- how heavy is that thing?
- how pricey is that thing?

OMG they pinched my idea!! Most high tower coolers is only a couple of inches away from the exhaust fan, and I though it would be a good idea to connect them with a flexible hose like the air intake from a car!!

Actually its not a new idea. Dell and other manufacturers have had vents from cooler to exhaust fan going back socket 478 Pentium 4's. But this is better because its flexible and designed for different cases.
