Memory card recommendation

We're going to buy a new camera soon, most likely Canon EOS 700D, but apparently it doesn't come with a memory card, so I need to buy one. I don't know shit though, so I need some help.
I quickly looked at the specs and on Wikipedia, and the thing supports SDXC cards (UHS-I according to the specs). I'd like something fast enough so recording video wouldn't cause any problems, but I don't want to pay any ridiculous price. 64GB seems to be just about enough.
Any tips? I'd like to pay roughly €55 max.

i would recommend sandisk ultra which is pretty cheap and performs reasonably well,
but if you can find a good deal on the sandisk extreme, that would be the better choice

Yup, another vote for SanDisk here. My SD (and also CF) cards are a couple of years old now but still work just fine. I forget what series they are but they are Extreme 'somethings'. I had a transcend and also a Lexar one too but they both died (I only tried their SD cards not CF) just after a year. I use my cameras mostly for motorsport (including circuit racing and gravel rallies) so the memory cards get a fair workout.

You'll want speed, lots of it. The faster the memory, the quicker you can take follow up shots. Reviews of the flash product is more important than the manufacturer. Case in point, SanDisk makes some 1 MB/s 64 GB USB sticks. 1 MB/s is unbearably slow (about the same as 16x CD speeds).

Class 2 (slowest) to Class 10 (fastest).

UHS-I and Class 10 are minimum 10 MB/s. UHS-I can handle 50-100 MB/s. I, personally, would go with what Canon says which is UHS-I.

I've got 3 SLR's in my work place, along with 5 HD video cameras, and we use the 64GB Class 10 SanDisk Extremes in all of them. They perform well, and not had a problem. Then again, most memory cards tend not to break in my experience.

broke two transcend ones. they crumbled for some reason.
i too vote for sandisk. they are really good now.
class 10 should be a minimum.
some cards are better optimized for transferring images, like the sony one that came with the camera i have is faster at transferring lots of small files compared to my class 10 16gb.

they both have adapters, should you decide to put them in your phone or camera. It might be cheaper than in Chech Republic. I am pretty sure amazon.co.uk ships to your place. Just a suggestion. You can even find them on Alixpress with free shipping I think. In case the price is too high at home.
