Should we drop 5760x1080 in VGA reviews?

Lots of new games don't support it, apparently nobody cares anymore, since 4K is available to sell VGA cards...

No support in Shadow of Mordor, Ryse, Dead Rising 3.

We'll still have 4K, so the list of resolutions would be 1600x900, 1920x1080, 2560x1600, 3840x2160.

It would also let me save time spent to reconnect monitors, set up multi-monitor profile and benching of 5760.

Thoughts?

I'd say the game manufacturers have recognized that those four resolutions are probably (in my estimate) what 90% of users have. So I don't see a problem.

EDIT: And like @Jetster said below, 2560x1440. That should be included.

It's not really needed since you can estimates it's FPS to be 4K FPS * 4 ÷ 3

I did once look at that resolution because I had it set up but I found turning my head from side to side way to annoying for me to do.
So now I'm looking at buying 2560*1080 or 2560*1440.
I'd like to see 2560*1080 or 2560*1440 benchmarks that would be nice.

I'm having a hard time finding game benchmarks at that res that may be why. maybe ill stick to 1440.

1440 is close to 1600 so 1600*900, 1920*1080, 2560*1600 and 3840*2160 sounds good to me

I'd say keep it if it isn't a huge issue when you do your stuff. I'm personally looking to one day go with three screens and run around in BF3/BF4 (Maybe if BF5 comes out)

If it's a lot of work to keep doing and dropping it would be easier then okidoki. It's understandable.

and comparisons tbh 3k is just sitting in the way of me looking at the others. AMD mid-highend cards have had 4 outputs since the 5 series and eyefinity editions run with 6. Nvidia has run with 4 since the 680. So I don't see a need to support such a niche resolution anymore. If they want to span more than 2 monitors they should run 4 at a combined 4k resolution.

Having only 4 graphs would make it easier going forward.

I've been using a 2560x1080 monitor for about 9 months now. The only game I have found that didn't work with it is DOTA2. It supports the resolution, but the HUD doesn't scale right so you cant see the shop.

While I would definitely like to see some benchmarks at this resolution, I realize that few people probably use these to game on.

Those are good ones to test at, resolutions between them can estimated.

Of course, certain quirks can be discovered when multiple monitors are used, but there's already the Widescreen Gaming Forum with users testing games in that fashion.

Yeah drop it. That isn't a common resolution. With 4k you are pushing cards to max. Besides I would rather have quality reviews that don't frustrate W1zzards.

It would be an easier work load on you but in due honesty cards like the *95/x2/titan/r9*90/*80ti should get a flash by at those res for games that do support it, it would show maximum capability.

I see no issue dropping that resolution. Like another user said, any resolution between the four you are looking to stick with can be estimated, or looked at at other reviews.

dota 2 is configured like that. valve response is that to avoid advantage for multi monitor players.
