How many WPM would equal to 3GB/s?

So a few buddies of mine were talking about USB stuff and text docs and we came to a point that I couldn't stop thinking about.

How fast would someone have to type to equal out 3GB/s of data being made/transferred? I know it sounds weird but just food for thought.

Do mind this would be using Microsoft Word.

that would be a no even if you could send a char signal every 1Ms witch is as fast as you can get with 1000hz polling rate you will stil only be using a negligible amount Microsoft says you can send 6 commands + 4 modifiers per `packet`
a keyboard doesn't send data in the sense that a flash drive does it sends commands encoded into `packet` and no they aren't the same type of packet as in internet just a set of commands encoded into a 'frame'
never mind that fact that it would be impossible for a human to press a key fast enough to even register
now if you are on a old machine its possible to overload mircosoft words "input buffer" and cause it to lag but that's something completely different .and its impossible todo on any recent machine

That's true for plain text that's either being put into a file and is constantly getting appended or if you're talking about a stream of data.

In MS word, the entire file gets re-written when the document gets saved iirc (including the .docx markup which is really just XML so there is overhead), so the speed at which it gets saved will slow down as the document gets bigger. So if you have a 1000 page document, it will take more time to save it than a 10 page document. So technically the more you type the slower each save will take. So eventually if the document is big enough, even grandma could keep up with it.

Also note that 3 GBs on hard drive is not equal to 3 GBs in memory. Well, it does if you were talking about raw amounts but I'm not. For example, the memory has to store all of the loaded fonts, page information, and formatting in addition to the raw text. There's also no drive that could store 3 GB/s without RAID. You're talking memory speeds here...I'm not entirely sure how you came to that number.

It would take no less than 6 2.5" SSDs in RAID0 at current speeds to each 6 GB/s. I would plan on 8.

Ramdisks still need to be written to long term storage because it is volatile.

I don't think it would take many keyboards to overload the interrupts of the OS. Certainly much less than required to have humans generate 3 GB/s by pounding on a keyboard.

Not to mention their is a limit to the throughput iirc of a usb hub and not to mention their is a finite number of usb devices you can have hooked to a system hub or no.

The problem with your logic is that the OP specified word, which doesn't save after every keystroke. Word takes a significant amount of time to write all of the markup for the .docx file.

Remember, the OP said MS Word, not streaming data.

Is there really any point to this question? It seems kind of childish and nonsensical to me.
