Although this game plays incredibly different than ns2, it is from the NS franchise. After Rcoon writes his review, if anyone has any questions about combat, ns2, or how they compare, I will be able to answer.

Also, if anyone is interested faultline games is hosting a 96 hour livestream since monday till thursday giving away game keys.

The original NS2 Combat mod was quite fun although very buggy. I'll be getting this for sure. Don't have that much time for normal NS2 anymore, but i loved to just jump into the action with Combat.

For what it's worth, during my reviewing I have so far found zero bugs, and I'm playing on the test servers. That being said, it is using the Spark engine, and most of the gameplay was in D3D9 mode with DX11 available but in Beta. So I didn't really expect issues, or any particular system hogs.

As it stands, if you played and liked NS2, you're going to love this. If you're new to the whole thing, probably wait for reviews.

I was talking about older mod that was designed for NS2 game and isn't maintained anymore. As for liking it, i know i will. I'm a NS2 playtester ;) Haven't been working on NS2:Combat project though, but had some insider info.

And for 15 bucks its a steal. I'll get it as soon as i come from work. Fragadelic bitedelic carnage :D

It's been an interesting play for sure, and the press and devs I've played with were pretty fun to team up with.
Review will be up in an hour when the game releases.

I just wonder how they solved few original balance problems where marine jetpacked solders with GL (grenade launcher) could take down hives in large rooms easily. But knowing you can build more structures now, it will certainly be interesting. Maybe they solved it this way. We'll see in about an hour. If anyone will be playing from here, let us know, i'd be happy to play with you guys and teach you few tricks :)

They fixed some, and seem to have made a bunch more. Jet pack is still an issue though, particularly on the more vertical maps, of which there are very few.
