What if I put heatsinks on all chips on motherboard?

I don't see any potential adverse effects other than the silly questions of "WHY WOULD YOU??!!?!?"

Benchmark Scores It does boot up? I think.
There's really no gains to be had either.
But you'r right, there are no adverse effect - other than you'll just waste time and money sinking the board.

Sinking the MOSFETs of the CPU power regulation circuitry might improve vCore stability if the chips are running scorching hot.

Not only the CPU mosfets, but the dimm and vid card mosfets as well. There are some voltage regulator chips that get scorching hot, too. On my old DFI NF2 Ultra Infinity there were about a dozen places that were recommended to be 'sinked.

If you are really worried about it, as maybe you have some stability issues or something, you can buy lots of different sized heatsinks like these from Microcool:

http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/misipllch.html

http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/misiso.html

That store sells them in black, too. Those were the ones I used for my DFI board. And as always, reduced heat levels can greatly prolong the lifespan of the components.

I put some of those Zalman ramsinks aka. "hedgehogs" on my exposed voltage regulators on an ASUS P5WD2-E Premium before overclocking my D805.

The fact that only half of them come sinked to begin with worried me :p

Um... if you have six-phase, or eight-phase pwm, this isnt really needed you know? I would want it for the bling though :p

I think that the best reason to heatsink the mobo's MOSFETs is to keep the nearby electrolytic capacitors cool, especially if they're bad Taiwan brand caps rather than a quality Japanese brand. But I also replace Taiwan caps.

Radio Shack used to sell a nice tiny extruded heatsink for about $1.50 that was usually perfect for this application, but now I cut up old Socket 7 heatsinks and attach them with silicone rubber sealer (sticks better than thermal tape and also conducts heat better -- I've measured this). Silicone rubber removing the heatsink easier than epoxy or super glue do.

I thought that the MOSFETs for the CPU voltage regulator would get the hottest, but often the regulators for the graphics card (near the PCI-E or AGP slot) or memory (near the RAM sockets) get hotter, maybe because they're often linear regulators rather than switching regulators. I've measured some at 90C without heatsinking, 70C with.

Silicon? Isn't that the stuff they are putting on bakeware and cookware, especially the handles since they stay cool to the touch? Sorry, I find that hard to believe it works better...
