While I'm not entirely happy with Unity - I think it was rushed. the embargo and the bugs are evidence of that. I am a fan of the AC series as a whole. AC1 was good, AC2 was great. revelations meh brotherhood good. 3 was ok and 4 was fun.

as was mentioned, it's a series that constantly tries new things. yeah a lot fail but there is a fun enough game in the background that it enables them to experiemnt, try new things, pick out the good parts. i think that's a really good thing, and very few IPs do it. evolution of gameplay is one of the primary reasons I appreciate the series ... (!=cod).

the games are buggy, and frustrating. so what. they are also challenging, fun, and epic. it's a worthy trade off. yes some games have more assassination than others. but for the complaint about the title and it being so loosely connected: it's not called "assassinate people". it's "assassin's creed"... if we were really being picky I would expect it to be a series about a bunch of guys and their faith for the assassin's movement.

it's a STORY driven series. it's not COD, it's not minecraft. The story, though crazy at times - connects all of the games. it's interesting and it is specifically about the title of series. I enjoy it. and I think that it's actually one of the more accurate titles. in each game someone who doesn't know the assassin's or templars takes a journey to accepting the assassin's creed.

i was checking to how it ran. i can confirm the game runs pretty damn smooth for me on very high on my back up gtx 580 3gb since my 780ti is out for a doc visit again what shitty luck i tell ya lol. i'm quite surprised that it runs so well considering can you run site says my 4690k don't even pass for the minimum or recommended lol.

I went and ran it again and see the frame rates and oh man 25 to 30fps lol. it doesn't feel that low at all. I'm really surprised now

After using 8xAA the jaggies are still visible. I think AA in this game is weird because it still doesn't make the edges smooth like for example Ryse does.

Same as me, but it still feels smooth enough for game play. I do however, run into some glitches. Every once in ahwile i will get those pauses as if it is loading information. and last night I was running through a sewer went to climb a wall, my screen went blank for a sec and Arno was at the top haning in space as if a wall was there and I was unable to move, only time I have had the game crash and or glitch to unplayability.

I haven't ran into any weird glitches but i dint run it for long. i was just curious. I don't want to get invested in this game right now since dragon age 3 hits next week and i'm going to be all over that

Ubisoft stock dropped 10% after launch. They deserved it. Worst port I've seen in a while, even the consoles are having issues. They also hid microtransactions from reviewers.

Anyone notice that gpu is always like at 99% load but doesn't heat up like it should be on that load? It's more like is on 50% gpu load.

There are different types of load. 99% doesn't necessarily mean the GPU is at its limits. Furmark shows that example.

Too true, the large crowds are probably using a lot of repetitive instancing since that is how the consoles get better looking graphics, but the GPU is busy copy and pasting, not doing actual math.


All the reviews of the game say its OK if and when it works, the glitches are numerous, and the variance on high end hardware is awe inspiring.


I will not pay for 30FPS lock and such a terrible use of resources.

I've tried original Assassin's Creed and while i liked the theme of the game and pretty world, it didn't really sucked me in. I'm supposedly an assasin, yet i was running around most of teh time or fooling with the horse. It just didn't feel immersive. And the way how sometimes enemies treat you as enemy just because you run. Like whaaaaat? Like people never ran before. I've played many older games with better enemy alertness stages or status, proper sneaking, assassinations etc. I wish the whole game would be centered around being an assassin and not 3 billion other unrelated things. Just missions where you have to sneak around stuff and assasinate targets or just steal data or other stuff. And every new release drifts further from the core idea (name?) even though not even original delivered a lot of this.

like a 1000 people touched Assassins Creed.. the credits read like a movie and they can't spend resources on Uplay or PC ports? these games don't even make sense anymore. I thought Watch Dogs was going to be the big new IP.

• Arno falling through the ground
• Game crashing when joining a co-op session
• Arno getting caught inside of hay carts
• Delay in reaching the main menu screen at game start

I stuck stuck in mid air after my screen when blank for a second and I could no longer move my character, but the game didnt lock up. I get some stuttering and pauses every once in awhile. Have not tried co-op yet. I may have 6 hours in or so, give or take. Plan on playing a lot friday night.

I see a lot of people reporting and showing bugs ranging from lots of no clipping, to animation issues, to hanging in mid air, but the ones on PC need to let people know whether they're hardware passes the requirements, and if they're using the drivers made for the game, as that can make a difference with some bugs.

Clearly this game needs serious patching on all platforms though. What a mess.

I have noticed a few glitches with NPC's, walking over, more like hovering over, tables, desks, etc. But that is not game breaking, still annoying and shouldn't be there.

RPS tested it on an i7 and 290X. He got averages of around 24 FPS if I recall on max settings. On the lowest of the low settings, he barely went above 40FPS

The combat is starting to annoy me. Since from what I can tell the hidden blade isnt equipable and only functions with the assassinate prompt. For instance dropping a smoke bomb in previous games i could equip the hidden blade and assassinate the enemies in the smoke, haven't been able to do so in unity.

So here we have Ubisoft explaining that they have close to as much CPU power in the consoles as the last gen PS3 had, except when they actually use the features they were designed for. Like using the compute functions, which then return 10 times the compute power in 2/5th the time.

So their ideas of 30,000 people at once for AI is the reason, they may not be using the instancing provided by compute functions, and may be stalling the CPU's out by programming this game the same as they always have instead of using the 10 times at essentially half the compute time performance.

So yeah, good job.
