Put your bios to optimized default save it. Enable docp, set your rams profile to whats on the label of it. Save it check your default vcore voltage then bump the cpu to 4.2 with the multiplier. I heard that turning off turbocore, c1/c6 powerstates, application power management and Cnq does help with overclocking. Load Line Calibration i heard for someone caused a problem. You might want yo try it on auto for starters.

I will try this when I get home... However when I set the computer up originally, the RAM would only read as 1333, when I set it to 1866 it would say Overclocking has failed. When I put it to 1600 it would work.

The XMP profile that says 1867 is the only thing that works at the advertised 1866 speed.

Ok turn off docp set optimized default-enable manual overclock and set the ram to 1600, set your timings to 9 9 9 27 at 1.6

You said your ram failed oc at 1866 when it shouldnt be a problem.

I know my ram is different. Im running docp with all correct in timings and voltage.

I looked up your kit and was thinking possibly you running them at 1.6 to help with the ram run at 1866.

My ram kit isnt even on Asus list but they do have gskill on it.

What bios do you have?

2104,2301,2501?

I am at work currently. But i believe it is 2104.

And yes, the 1866 will not work unless it is set to that custom premade XMP OC profile 1867 9-9-9-27.

When the OC Profile is set to just 1866 standard it will not work, and I have already tried to run the regular 1866 OC profile with it upped to 1.6V. Still was not working.

When the custom 1867 XMP OC profile is selected it works just fine and reads correctly.

The RAM issue is related to timings, the default at 1333 is a 1T command rate, it needs to be at 2T for 1866 to work., which it will be at 1T if you didn't change it and only change the multiplier to get 1866. It is crazy, I ran this same memory on my Phenom II X6 8-8-8-24-1T no problems, the FX doesnt like 1866 @ 1T it seems.

change the LLC to Auto and then try. If you change too many things you will not know which one causes trouble.

Don't change any voltages, keep upping the multi alone to see the chip's max stable at stock voltage.

My board had issue with LLC setting and any change in LLC kept crashing even at stock clocks. Changed it to Auto no issues for a very loooooooong time now.

Yes it is in the BIOS under DRAM Timing Control. Will be towards the bottom of the list. I'll take a screenshot when I get home.

Ok, swapped LLC to auto....

The option to change 1T or 2T was set to Auto.... I changed this to 2T.

Brb going to try the defauult 1866 RAM profile now.

I believe that it was. When I first set this up it would not boot on this setting.

WOW.... 10 minute test... @ 4.4Ghz right now Socket temp is 55c... Processor temp is 46c... thermal margin is reading 24-25c. I am doing the Small FFT test instead of the blend (dont know if temps would be different in either?)

Huge difference with the LLC set to auto.

Before the socket temp @ 10 minutes was at 70c and the cpu temp was 61-62c, however this was doing the blend test. (@4.4Ghz)

Going to keep running it for an hourish and see what happens.

small FFT creates maximum heat. So I guess you are good.

Next thing after enable S3 in the bios and put the machine to sleep, and try waking and sleep cycles for few times, give some time between cycles.

if its stable then you are some what closer to good stability.

The temp variance is due to voltage. LLC puts out more voltage so to speak, because when the CPU takes on a heavy load the voltage will drop. Lowering the LLC will lower your voltage under load and could cause some stability issue, meaning you will have to increase voltage to compensate (more so than with higher LLC). You really need to do more than 10min test, the temp will rise for awhile while stress testing before kind of leveling out.
