So my laptop decided that he would buddy up with some water. Water was spilled on top of it while it was closed and sat there for a day or two because I didn't know it happened. I picked it up to use it and water started dripping out of a corner of it. Opened it and found the keyboard soaked and the screen wet. So I didn't even try to turn it on. I let it set open and placed it like a tent and let it sit like that for about a day. Tried to turn it on and nothing, not even a flicker. When the charger is plugged in I don't even get my charging light. So I took it all apart and let it dry out some more and just put it back together with the same result. Should I give it more time or is it done for? I really hope not as I have had it for about 1year and 4 months.

edit: found the damage. Looks to me like some residue, not sure if anything is cooked. Is this...fixable? Or only by replacing the board?

Thought about trying the rice method but wasn't sure about it.

Found the damage. Looks like dried residue so I'm not sure if anything is actually cooked but I wouldn't be surprised. I'd it fixable or only by replacing the board?

its kinda hard to tell from that angle but (What did you spill on it, just water?) to me that looks like a mix of corrosion and burn. looks to me to be shot sadly but you can try cleaning it up a bit. For something like this its going to be hard but I would suggest trying a minute amount of rubbing alcohol and a Qtip to get some of that excess off.

After that let it sit again for awhile just to make sure its extra dry and give it one more whirl. At that point I would probably guess its shot.

Yeah, I am positive it got burnt at this point. While cleaning it up I noticed a good amount of black coming off. Not just blue and green from residue.... Son of a bitch
