got mobo msi Z77A-G45
intel i5-2310 overclocked to 3.49 GHz
ddr3 4Gb 1333
PSU Corsair RM650
videocard palit 550ti
TV 1080p

living in Russia, got different prices here, so for 1080p gaming got 3 GPUs to choose
1)r9 290(not X)
2)gtx 770
3)gtx 760
prices for gtx 770 and r9 290 are equal, gtx 760 cheaper for 50-70$(is there any difference in 1080p?)
what should i choose(heard that AMD always suffer with driver problem for new games, i dont say nvidia is always good, but they update drivers more often)
also, msi is prefered(for price, feedback) - if no, just give me a reason to revise opinion.

also, earlier created same tread, but now i dont plan to go for 4k.

770 and R9 290 equal? I find that slightly hard to believe. In most games the 770 is equal to a 7970, the 290 is a whole different beast, and is generally more powerful. It also has the VRAM you need to play Shadow of Mordor, whereas the 770 simply doesn't unless you buy the 4GB model. Honestly, even though NVidia update their drivers more often these days, and I own an NVidia card myself, of those three the 290 is the only option.

thats why i wanna hear opinion of the owner 290, cause read lots about bugs: for example chromium based browsers (drivers in 14.4 version) get you into blue screen, also when you activate computer(it was in sleep or hybernate) you get blue screen or "driver stopped responding and has recovered"
if i will not play all in ultra, but get non-problem pc(wanna both)..
thats why - somebody, owner of r9 290, answer pls)

never got such problem from my nvidia cards( 6600GT->550TI)

+1, no matter how you look at it the 290 is the better card. A few more specs:

For GTX 770: Pixel (GP/s): 33.5; Texture (GT/s): 134 ; Bandwidth (GB/s): 224; Raw Powa: 3213

For R9 290: Pixel (GP/s):60.608; Texture (GT/s): 151.52 ; Bandwidth (GB/s):320; Raw Pawa: 4848.6

I don't think you will have that many issues with driver support. I am an nVidia fan, and I would go for gtx 770 decpite being the weaker card. But if you don't suffer from bias go for R9 290.

ok. here we go: 1 fan of nvidia says he will buy 770 despite of it's weakness and 1 owner of nvidia card, advicing to buy r9 290 cause of 4gb and memory bandswith(thats 2 advantages)
but whats about problems(which i wrote), do we got else that i havent mentioned?
owners of 290, pls)

*upd: cause if blue screen is shown not very often-not big deal, got massive ssd(7 secs to windows and all games)

hmmm equal you say?
you should look for more reputed review sites.
i have 290x and i never had issues with drives. i update drivers when stable version is out and never have seen issues you have mentioned. never seen bsods, browser problems etc. my browser is latest stable verion of opera (chromium based).
when you read about problems with drivers also pay attention to posts dates. 14.4 is quite old driver most likely issues you mentioned has been resoved months ago

of those three the 290 is the only option
+1

with 770 and 290 at same price this will be tHe dumbest purchase you'd made

i have had both cards and kept the 290.
never had probs with amd driver and thats without driver cleaner or so.
new games seem to have probs in itself so if ya buy at day one you will have other probs then driver performance.
msi 770 was superquiet even under heavy load.
290 i have is ref-pcb with rajintek

Click the "report" button on your own first post and just type in that you'd like it closed. I have no power in this subforum, so another mod will have to do it :)
