I brought XFX 6800GS AGP [NV40] Secondhand.
The normal XFX 6800GS AGP have 12pp/5vp but the old owner
unlock the pipes to 16pp/6vp.

When I insert this Video card into my computer and cheak with riva tuner,
it is already unlocked pipes to 16pp/6vp so now it is at 6800GT specification.
:toast:

 Unfortunately, my problem was I can't overclock it even 1 MHz both RAM and GPU.
I think it might be something to do with the BIOS so can anyone kindly direct me
to anything that would solve this so I can overclock it to ultra speed..... :D

:respect:

Lastly, what do you think of Arctic Cooling NV Sliencer 5 and Tt TMG ND1 :rockout:

Rivatuner says overclock failed and say I need to decrese the Clock speed.

change your forceware driver to 78.01 those worked the best for me..but they do take a hit on performance compared to the beta 93.81's

that is a common problem, i can't remember how to fix it though, reboot?

edit: it could also be that the pipes that were unlocked are slightly damaged and throwing artifacts, which you can't see, but rivatuner can, which is why the overclock is failing. try using something else to overclock, like atitool, that will let you set the clocks higher even if there are artifacts.

I tried several drivers already but still can't overclock, neither with nvidia's driver or rivatuner.

Use Atitool, I use it without any problem to OC my unlocked 6800GS with the 3D detection feature. I OC it to default Ultra clocks (400Mhz core and 1.1Ghz. mem), and even to downclock it when in 2D mode (I downclock the core to 200Mhz and the mem to 625Mhz).

One thing that called my attention is that you say that Rivatuner detects all 16pp and 6vp when installing your card, does this mean the previous owner flashed the Bios of the card?

Btw, I currently use TweakR'Us 97.92 drivers, but have not had problems to OC with any driver release so far since the 80's series, so I don't think that should be a problem for you either.

EDIT: I have an AC NV Silencer 5 Rev. 3, and it rocks, idle temps are 44 C and it never goes over 68 C at full load and Ultra clocks. Can't tell you anything about the Tt TMG cooler, I used to have a Tt Giant 3 moded to fit my card and it worked quite well, but the AC Silencer is much better. The max OC I can reach is 440Mhz for the core and 1.21Ghz for the mem.

I'm thinking that the previous owner must flashed the BIOS, so I might need to flash it to the GT or Ultra but I need a old PCI VGA card in case I flash it wrongly.
NV Sliencer 5 cools my 6800 really well but it doesn't cool the PWN and capacitors, there is almost no air flow there, stock blows more air there. I once touch the capacitor there and felt that I must do something to cool them, otherwise this card won't stay stable for that long. :rockout:
