Help my 7970 is not working as it should

My friend is having a few problems with his new radeon 7970 sapphire which he recently upgraded from his 650 ti and when he was playing minecraft he noticed he got a lot less frames than with his 650 ti and i/him have no idea why.

post system specs, use afterburner and see if the 7970 does not sit in power save mode.

Tell your friend to so a thorough clean sweep of drivers, very important when switching from Nvidia to AMD.

After that, test to see how the card does.

Use MSI Afterburner or GPUz to monitor the card.
