PLEASE READ ALL
I need to properly ground myself to not damage any parts. So, what part of the case do I touch in order to ground myself?

I'm barefoot on carpet is that okay?
It's all painted, that's okay right?

Do you know any good videos that helped you on how to build it? These wires go to the motherboard right?
My friends were supposed to help me but they can't and none of them are replying so yeah. Thanks, God bless.

Hi

Posting in System builders advice section would have been a good start, anyhow that out of the way;

I need to properly ground myself to not damage any parts. So, what part of the case do I touch in order to ground myself?
Metal part of the case or use an anti static wrist band as you are a first time builder [Note: keep all components away from the carpet]

Do you know any good videos that helped you on how to build it?
could look at this thread here has lots of useful tips and tricks and links to videos in here

These wires go to the motherboard right?
Yes; will need to refer to the motherboard manual for correct alignment

For general system builders advice look here

NB: Stick to one post keep all the info in one place, just noticed you have posted two or three times. ask a mod to merge your post's and place it in the system builders advice section will save other members of the TPU community repeating information.

Congrats, now put all your spec in the system spec chart under your avatar, as you will most likely have questions eventually that pertain to that.

Now get outta here and play some new games on it!:rockout:

what part of the case do I touch in order to ground myself?

um unless the case itself is grounded (ie: connected to an earth) it's not going make a damn difference all your really doing when touching the case is making everything the same voltage hence why antistatic bags are made of metallized plastic and not just plain plastic the antistatic bags job is to make the whole area the same voltage instead of just one little area which is what you don't want... you really want to make sure your grounded then buy an antistatic wrist strap that plugs into an power socket so any static build up is sent directly to ground and not into anything your working with

the one I use has this type of band though

for better contact

Congratulations! I love it when a first time builder puts it together and has no problems! It happened to me on my first time too, and I couldn't believe my luck.

Chill out man !

was laughing at his description, not him knowing nothing about it.

I am here to help, and not to have a go at them asking questions/help.

don't you see the humor in his description ? or is it only me
