when FC2 came out, i was on a 4870x2, & the interesting thing was that crossfire did work in dx10 all by itself, yet needed a driver update for dx9... it was a pattern that i started noticing in other games since then

Gladly entering...very interested in this game. I loved Far Cry 3. I have 2 on PS3, probably still in the plastic wrapping - and I briefly played 1 on the PC, but I think it was the demo - it never really caught my interest. However, Far Cry 3 was brilliant. I love open world games, and there was a lot to do and explore in FC3. I liked the jungle setting a lot, and the combat was pretty fun. It's funny, because I'm either a shotgun in your face type of guy, or a sniper rifle from far away player. The driving also surprised me on how fun that was. That and fire destroying things..there's just a lot to play with when you first get into it, and I love the game. The ending scene was kind of interesting in FC3 too...

I once made a man kill himself with his own hat.

In reality, it wasn't me, the game killed him. I just set a bush fire going, he ran away, the tip of his hat touched a rock texture, his head spazzed out uncontrollably and then his lifeless corpse dropped to the floor after 5 minutes of neck-break dancing.

Skyrim wasn't even out by that point, so I had yet to discover floating mammoths and soldier's entire faces stretching across water texture.

I'm in, thanks to Manofthem for super-awesomeness.

My first foray into FC was FC3. I still haven't quite completed it, but I'm getting there. There's a lot of game in the box with some very hard missions. I like the storyline, though it is drawn out. My son has been helping me with the gameplay - he already finished it, lol. Coupled with the fact I upgraded from a 7870 to a watercooled 290x, I'd like to see what the card can do with this game.

That suppressed bow is so silent it silences and removes other sounds, like the scenes in movies where some dramatic action is happening and nobody can hear anything. :laugh:

I'm starting to see some bugs in Far Cry 4 similar to the rock glitches I experienced in Far Cry 2. There were a few times enemies would partially no clip into big ground boulders and still be yelling or attacking.

Had one such in Far Cry 4 last night. I thought I'd killed all of those in an Assassinate Karma Event group, but still heard yelling. Then I went over to the big ground boulder behind the truck they were near and one was sunk neck deep in the rock. I killed him, verified by being able to loot his partly exposed body, but still heard yelling that sounded like it was coming from under the rock. Tossed several grenades, still heard yelling, gave up.

Never had it happen that bizarre in Far Cry 2, but I'm near the end of the game and it's only happened once, so.
