What to choose between Seagate and HGST

So, I need to buy a laptop hdd for storage purpose, it will be put in a usb enclosure, so I have to choose between, at the same price:
HGST Travelstar 5K1000 1TB SATA-III 5400 rpm 8MB cache 2.5 inch
and
Seagate Laptop HDD 1TB 5400RPM 8MB SATA-II
, I am interested to have data safe, not in speed, I know that HGST it is a WD now; so, what it is the best ?

HGST (formerly Hitachi Global Storage Technologies) is owned by Western Digital today if that helps your decision pigulici and was founded back in 2003.

The HGST 1TB/7200 RPM drive that came with my year old laptop has been great. I think you'll be fine with either, however.

Of those two, I would go with Hitachi because it has a SATA 6 Gb/s connection. It won't impact performance but it does tell you the hardware in it is newer.

If it were me, I'd pass on both and look for a 7200 RPM. I've never gotten the logic behind using slower drives for storage; all drives are for storage.

Both are available, both look same to me besides of brand, I don't need high speed for storage of data, need more space, and from my past experience, the usb drives tend to have problems on usb controler side, for desktop side I have 3 x 2TB 5400rpm hdd and a fat usb enclosure(with electrical feeding from wall), but I need now some light storage form my laptop, and I like the ideea to can choose the hdd model from usb enclosure...
