Suggest me a good mouse

I'd like a good quality mouse with a high dpi but not a lot of gaming buttons because I won't really use them and end up pressing them by mistake.

Budget isn't an issue - the most expensive one I bought was a Razer Lachesis... and it was also the worst one for me. Pointer movement became erratic and choppy, even while browsing the net, and gaming is impossible (and the only way to solve it is to unplug and replug the mouse usb connection like every 5 - 10 minutes).

Also, the material of the mouse I buy must not be like that of the Lachesis. I suffer from sweaty hands and that ruined the Lachesis, made the material all sticky and dirty as if I had spread fresh glue on it.

The type of games I play are Skyrim, Fallout and that genre.

Right now I'm using a $5 mouse!

If you care about not having positive acceleration, there's only a couple to choose from, one of which is the Razer Deathadder. I currently use one, but also get sweaty hands because of the material it uses, so I won't recommend that if you're already experiencing that problem.

The brand new Logitech Proteus Core appears to be a ridiculous high seller, might be worth testing the waters on that one, I've never tried it myself.

For work I use the Roccat Kone XTD. It's not my favourite mouse, or even a particularly high performer. In fact I wish it would be worse than my deathadder, but it simply isn't, it refuses to die, and seems to be the modern day Nokia of mice. Never been particular to Roccat, I just tested them once for the variation, but they've surprised me somewhat.

Steelseries Sensei RAW. Mouse I currently use, its pretty good. Make sure its on offer, they can get pricey if the stars and moons don't align.

I love my Gigabyte M8000X. In fact I like this mouse so much I had the previous version and it stopped working so I upgraded to this, so I could have the same type of mouse. There is a programmable DPI switch on the TOP of the mouse, below the mousewheel. I can use this to drop my speed when going for precision movements (sniping someone really far away) or raise it for quicker movements. It does have a really high DPI, up to 6000 I believe. Check it out, it's worth a look.

I've been using this for over a year and it still works great. No double clicking or anything else wrong. Here's my take on it:

Pros:

Very comfortable. To me this is the most important thing and I've bought 3 mice since owning this and only 1 of them were remotely usable due to comfort. (if you are a right hander, get a right handed mouse (sloped design))
Soft touch feel reduces sweating.
The thumb buttons are the best I've used. They click perfect and you can reach them all with ease.
Software allows remapping all the buttons and there's a macro function (which I use).
The wheel has a satisfying slope to it and great feedback with a rubberized touch.
Fantastic customer service.
Weight tuning.

Cons:

The laser has a very slight input delay compared to optical. (I don't notice it anymore, but I bought this after using an optical mouse for 2 years and initially thought it was a faulty mouse)
The wheel and DPI lights can't be turned off and also don't change color with the main symbol.
The right side is a gloss finish, lacking the soft touch.

I give it an 8/10.

I don't know if you have big hands or not but personally I like a small and light-weight wireless laser mouse, when I'm using a mouse I use a Logitech Nano myself.

I currently have a G602 and it's great. I get months of battery life in endurance mode and still supports high DPI settings for gaming when you need it. It's wireless but with a pair of rechargeable batteries you can last for months in endurance mode.

It's the first wireless mouse I've used that doesn't feel like it's wireless. before the G602 I had two G500s and before that a G5 and the G602 is just as good as the G500.

The G602 always reports the battery being 60% full because of the 1.2v instead of 1.5v like normal AAs, but it lasts just as long.

I love my UtechSmart mouse, I recommend it in every thread like this I've seen on TPU for the last year and a half. For the $35 price, it blows my old Logitech G5 out of the water. Yes there are nice expensive mice, but this one is amazing and sweet for the budget.

You don't need to use the included software (I never did). It doesn't have too many buttons...but has a few. Includes a weighting system you can customize or bypass. The sensor is very very nice. Works great in Windows and Linux.

Has held up to me and the kids, easy to clean, handles really really well and is super comfortable. I've tried expensive mice, and really I can't say I can justify spending close to $100 when this thing is running around at $35 like a honey badger being a badass in the land of mice. Build quality is pretty impressive and the mouse feels solid, not once have I feared it breaking. It has taken a couple of tosses and falls due to kids too...has held up great. I couldn't recommend another corded mouse with a good conscience knowing how good of a budget performer this mouse really is.

EDIT: +1 for P4-630's recommendation for the Logitech M325, I use that with my laptop. Excellent little simple mouse. Battery life is amazing, and response is pretty good. Pales greatly compared to the Utech, but for portable uses it's king with a budget it my book.
