I need an SSD

I'm looking for an SSD. I do not need the fastest speeds but decent random read/write speeds are good since I will use this for game storage.

Here is the list of the SSDs available to me. Prices and capacity don't matter as they are very close to each other.

• Crucial MX100 512GB
• PNY Optima 480GB
• PNY XLR8 480GB (non-pro version)
• Transcend SSD370 512GB
  
• SanDisk Ultra II SSD 480GB
  
• ADATA Premier SP610 512GB
  
• ADATA XPG SX900 512GB

• Samsung 840 EVO 500GB
• Samsung 840 PRO 512GB

Here are 3 SSDs that are more expensive that those above but I could still get these if they are significantly better.

I bought an MX100 and it works. I just bought another for mom's computer. My first SSD was a Sandisk and had a lot of issues. That's the extent of my knowledge on SSDs.

Why does everyone forget the Intel drives?

I own (3) of these Intel's now and they work flawlessly, and are faster 'n hell.

And as far as quality... who can beat Intel? Really... who?

Pricing? No, that can't be, not now. The 730 Series is competitive with most SSD's now. You get enthusiast grade performance and dependability.
$209.00 for a 480GB.
Whoops... the just went up to $219.00 US. (Black Friday sales over now.)

Along with the performance comes extreme endurance - up to 70GB of writes per day compared to the industry typical 20GB per day for five years (compared to the industry typical 20GB).
MTBF: Greater than or equal to 2,000,000 hours. Try and top that with your general consumer grade SSD.
In a RAID array... these Intel's are extremely fast. I don't know if any one else can come close to their performance?

well because the MX100 has the best price/perf ratio and put nearly all other SSD to shame (on the price not on the perfs ... ) i think of swapping my VertexIII (who works flawlessly since ~2.5yrs now and saw 4 different build and install/cloning/dirty assembly ... so it's not a technical issue or failure related) for a MX100 512gb (or 2 ...)


and indeed price is a issue ... specially with Intel ...

Price is important, of course. But I see at the egg only a $5.00 difference.

samsung, but I personally find Kingston to have reliable drives as well. I run a ssdnow v300 and a hyperX 5K (the original blue one, not the black 3k ones)

This is probably going to be the best between cost, performance, and reliability. I've bought both an M500 and MX100 for two different people and both drives work flawlessly to this day... but also so do my Corsair Force GTs but when I bought those, they were as expensive as a 500GB SSDs...

Quite a percentage difference. I'd go with the MX100 too, if it were me, for that price difference.
