Newegg refuses to show my negative review for Corsair product

anyone here had a similar problem?

i submitted a review, waited 2-3 days, but it still wasn't showing up.... i submitted it again, with the same results.

meanwhile... my positive reviews show up pretty quickly.

I did reviews for newegg and we were allowed to post negative reviews and they would always pop up right away, but if they contained anything, even "turd" they would get flagged and we would have to rewrite them.

did u get notifications about the language? i remember newegg used to block out brand names of other companies...
but no... i thought my review was pretty short and to the point. no offensive language or anything that would be out of line with their policy.

Distributor: The manufacturer suggests you filter out the negative reviews on the site, so their products get more visibility and/or higher chances of being bought by unaware people.

And I think they should show everything as long as there is no ***** words. YOU PAID FOR IT!

Perhaps with some of their closest partners, they allow for manufacturer comment before they post it up.

I have seen some reviews on the egg where the manufacturer responds to the review/reviewers post. It could be as said above, egg forwarded ur negative to corsair to respond to.

I have had the manufacturer get involved before, But it usually happens within 24-48 hours after the review was submitted, both for newegg reviews and just purchased items. The review still got posted though once they had a chance to put their follow up comment on.

When doing reviews for items I purchased it would stop me. With other reviews they got emailed in at first, and you would get a email back, later it was a link to the review page and it wold stop you, but if you had fancy curse words they might hold the review and edit it out. I only had that happen once I think.

Newegg puts negative reviews under more scrutiny. I made a negative review on a card that broke a few rules, but 18/20 of the other reviews on the product that were positive also broke those rules. This is pretty common with them, especially with the hot ticket expensive items.

Ah, a NE rep response... always pleasant to see.... I've cut back on my NE purchases with their expansion into an Amazon-style market place, and their own "Premier" shipping (which isn't always free like ShopRunner), but their customer service has almost always been very high for me.

The main thing I value about Newegg, despite one minor review problem, is they are ALWAYS a reliable safety net if the manufacturer's CS drops the ball. Within 30 days any reasonable explanation for refund is responded to via a chance to send it back to them and buy something else, provided you have original packaging and have not abused said product. That's what keeps a LOT of customers coming back because we all know in the tech world, there are a myriad of things that can go wrong, and that level of CS is highly valuable. Just the fact that a rep showed up in this thread tends to verify they care.

So try to be understanding about it guys and judge them on a curve. We all know how forum chat gets when over the top negative comments aren't strictly enforced. Even Newegg's subsidiary Chief Value will go out of their way to satisfy the customer. I once bought an ASUS DVDRW from them that was DOA. They offered to send a new one or refund it without asking me to send it back. There was no extensive grilling either. They trusted that it wasn't working.

this never had a issue with newegg RMA the handful of times I have actually needed it

I've had a negative review on Amazon removed.

I had some bad customer service over a defective product from one of their marketplace sellers, so I left a one star review, explaining clearly what happened.

It was up there for a day and then disappeared. I queried it with Amazon, who said it was a "system error" and reinstated it. However, it then disappeared again and when I queried it again, I got some lame BS excuse about it that I can't remember now and they refused to reinstate it this time. I was more than a little pissed off, I can tell you.

I've had several niggling problems when buying stuff from the marketplace (around 20 purchases) but only twice when direct from Amazon and I've made hundreds of purchases. The worst case of marketplace issues was that pirate Windows 7 that was flogged to a customer of mine which I discussed on TPU.

Moral of the story: to avoid headahces, buy from Amazon and avoid the marketplace if possible.

Seems sort of unreasonable, unless your review was either untrue or defamatory.

Personally, I have been avoiding all the online-only retailers (Newegg, Amazon, TigerDirect, etc.) lately, unless it is a product unavailable locally.

Living 20 minutes from a Microcenter, I know I can always walk in a have a real person deal with my issue face-to-face, without waiting for RGA authorization, or shipping delays. Also, I can usually get a price match for Newegg or Amazon, and, I am supporting my local economy, rather than some out-of-state corporation.
