Extremely Irritating Electronic "Buzz"

This has been happening ever since I built my PC (at least a month ago) and I have only just realised that an electronic "buzz" coming from within my case is directly linked with when I type or scroll using the mouse wheel. It doesn't happen every time, it appears to be random. But when it does happen, every time I press a single key or scroll a fraction, an irritating auditory buzz can be heard from inside the case.
I did a bit of research and found out that it's to do with USB interference or something, but I can't find a solution for getting rid of it anywhere! Changing the ports they use doesn't work - it's the first thing I tried.

I had the same problem, only it was with my Roccat Kave headset. Whenever I used my scrollwheel it would make a squealy buzz noise through my headphones that were plugged into my Xonar. I have sinced replaced the MoBo and mouse, as well as the headset, so I couldn't tell you what solution I found.

Are you certain that it's not coming from your speakers? That almost sounds like the audio system might be receiving parasitic input in the form of feedback or a bad ground from your audio device.

It is definitely coming from within the case, plus, I only use my headset and don't have any speakers.
It's difficult to describe the sound, both those words could be used to describe it =P
It isn't a major problem, just one that at the moment is a bit irritating, like a mosquito in the ear. But I would get used to it over time and when I use my headset (a lot of the time) I obviously can't hear it. Even when I don't use my headset I sometimes have to look out for the noise to hear it; if I'm not thinking about it sometimes I won't hear it.
So if there's no easy solution it's okay =)

Having a bad ground in the system can cause audio interference.

Ground Loop Isolator might help, but the chances of success are slim.

Are you using a USB hub? If so, bypass the hub and plug the mouse and keyboard directly into the PC, then test it.

Nope, just using the standard MoBo on the back of my case and the case ports on the front, no hubs.

I thought I had the same issue with a buzzing sound, at first I thought it was my GTX 970...........

However after looking into it more, it was my LIGHTBULB in my bedroom that was buzzing so annoyingly.

Also too, uplugging my DVD Drive also helped to reduce this buzz more. (it was mainly my light in my bedroom though doing this)

Seems odd though.

-Shit will drive you crazy, and even more crazy when your specifically listening for it.

If you don't know how coil whine sounds how do you know it's not coil whine?
I once heard coil whine because of scrolling (maybe from the GPU or some other VRM).

It could be coil whining and a lot of people seem to think it is, so it's likely.
Well the thing is, I used this mouse and keyboard on my laptop before I built this PC for well over a year and everything was fine. But does that still not rule out that changing keyboard/mouse on this PC could be a solution?

There is no escape. A new GPU or PSU solves it, so does caking the bugger in heat glue.

My GPU had terrible coil whine at high FPS situations....but only for the first few months, now it's silent. So sometimes the whine goes away.

I have literally just upgraded my GPU (yesterday, from GTX 760 to R9 290X) and the whine/buzz has been happening for both cards. So if it's going to be one out of my GPU or PSU, it'll be PSU.

there is nothing really wrong outside of the noise
Coil Whine is when Components start to resonate at a audible frequency Mainly the Coils/Chokes on the power phase of the GPU/CPU/Powersupply
there are ton of factors that come together that cause it, length of the power wires .. layout of the case ,, input power from the house
the best thing you can do is isolate what coil is making the noise and then cover it with RTV silicone

Buzz sounds like a buzz coming from speakers cranked too high. Coil whine sounds like a ringing noise or a chirp. Like how some crt tvs are
