I'm going to throw this in. When the Premier Costumer program dropped to $30 I bought it. I tend to buy a lot pf parts and use Newegg just because of there service. It's not perfect but its pretty close. With this account shipping does come on Saturdays (On Track) also they will do a refund on refurbished items. I had a H100i that worked but did not cool very well. They took care of it. (refund and return shipping) Also when I called about the item they picked up the phone before I was done entering my account number. I can't speak for a regular account now and I'm sure there are issues but imo Newegg has always tried to work with there customers. I cant say that for many companies these days

I can't remember the last time I've had a bad experience with a company, but then again I only deal with walmart, amazon, and newegg. (I've returned multiple items to all 3 and never had an issue)

Fun factoid, I have a PUR water filter where the top broke after something fell on it. I emailed the company and they sent me a new top free of charge. The emails took longer than the actual shipping, which was 3 days.

Seems these days most companies know the value of good customer service. My guess? They don't want people writing bad reviews on websites about their service... :)

Personally I'd have contacted Newegg like Raw did because...

1. In my experience Newegg is far easier to actually speak to someone. They're also never curt or rush through a phone call, they listen.

2. As he said, the items were in the Newegg description.

The 2nd one alone makes Newegg responsible regardless of ASUS' actual policy, which is still unclear at this point on this particular item. And while some may see those items as unnecessary, others wouldn't and may not even have the cable to hook it up. At the very least it wastes more time and money after his already having been delayed.

Thankfully businesses like Newegg understand this and respond accordingly, while ASUS or others might very well be apathetic or even rude about it. It's the difference between being a big name manufacturer that only cares about wholesale customers, and a vendor that deals with both manufacturer and customer.

My point is that you were out a worthless disk and a cable probably not even worth $1-2 and on a refurbished unit where you should expect such things. If you paid for a product sold as new and it was missing those items, yes, Asus and Newegg would and should bend over backwards to fix it. That was not the case. Asus deliberately did not put those in there because it was a refurbished unit and you complained. Had you have contacted Asus, Asus likely would have told you this. Because you contacted Newegg instead of Asus, Newegg likely contacted Asus on your behalf. I already went over that.

Contacting Asus first would likely have been "resolved" faster either by way of telling you "no, you have what you are supposed to have" or "yes, we'll ship the missing parts to you." There would be no weeks of waiting because of dealing with a middle-man.
What he said +

Well, see it as you may. Although I totally disagree with you, you are entitled to your opinion. I felt it was not my responsibility to contact Asus. And that "worthless" disc you mention? I already pointed that out to you. The cable? Why should I have to jump in my car and drive 5 miles to grab a cable that should have been in the box to begin with? I may or may not have a cable laying around.
My gas money, mileage on my brand new car that only has 2000 miles on it, on my time that I am not getting paid for... and there is 2 feet of snow outside. I didn't feel like shoveling snow.

Anyway, the whole point of this thread was to give a pat on the back to Newegg and how they handle things like this. That is why I do 99% of my shopping there.
Look, because of their service I just spent another $1200.00 there right after this situation.
I could have bought my parts anywhere, Amazon, TigerDirect, etc.. I chose Newegg because of their service. And it is not the first time I have spent lots of money with them.
Let me see. Well, I can count at least 10 builds in the past few years that were over $1000.00
If I do the math... that's a goodly sum of money I gave the Egg.
I don't feel bad.

^Another $100 and you'd have qualified for singed delivery. I think there's an option to pay extra for it too, but as far as I know their standard policy is signature not required unless the value is $1300 or more.

Fortunately our regular UPS driver knows the tenants of our building pretty well and will go out of her way to get a signature, even making 2 or 3 attempts if necessary. I've heard stories though of some drivers leaving high value deliveries on porches and they sometimes get stolen.

Your snow tales reminds me of the house I grew up in. We used to get 8' snow drifts in front of the house in tough winters.

We are used to snow, lots of snow, around these here parts.
I live close to Buffalo, NY. Talk about snow... a suburb south of Buffalo just recently (Nov. 21) got 7 actual feet, in a few hours and not drifts either. The National Guard worked 2 weeks to help clear it. The Buffalo Bills had to play elsewhere. A few people lost their lives getting caught in their cars during the storm.

The storm came in so fast and furious over Lake Erie it trapped more than 100 vehicles along a 132-mile stretch of the New York State Thruway that remained closed for more than 24 hours.
Some areas got so much snow that road crews said it was like plowing a brick wall. Rescuers, who used snowmobiles, also walked car to car to try to dig out people stuck in their vehicles.

Open Box, Refurb and OEM Items dont come with accessories, Creative labs told me to only ship the card back to them for RMA, low and behold they gave me a brand new one in the box with all accessories.
Actually, not always true. I bought an MSI 660 TF/OC, refurbished, that came fully equipped with accessories and in a new type box, carefully wrapped and packed. So, it all depends on the item and manufacturer.

I can't name the last time I used a disk that came with a router because I never have. All I need to know is the username and password and that's usually easy enough to guess (admin, Admin, Administrator, administrator; password, <router manufacturer>, <blank>, <router model>, or worst case scenario, Google the default). You can get the address off of ipconfig (Default Gateway).

I know I have no less than three CAT5e cables that came with other crap that aren't being used (in danger of being cut too because I loathe CAT5) and three CAT6 cables I could use in a pinch. You seriously don't have a spare, seriously? My understanding is that Newegg did not send you a cable, you still have the refurbished router/power adapter, and Newegg did a partial refund of the value of the router. Am I correct? I take it you are using that router now, right? [sarcasm]Well how on Earth did you accomplish that without a CAT5e cable and support CD!?![/sarcasm] Correct me if I'm wrong but you really didn't need that cable nor the CD but pestered Newegg about it anyway.

With only one leg, I'm so glad that I don't live where you do. We get enough snow where I live, at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I stopped dealing with Newegg years ago. I bought a server board from them that I had to return. I was happy to pay the restocking fee but they said the board was damaged. It seems that one of the latches on a PCI slot was broken. Unfortunately I couldn't have been responsible for it since I never took the board out of the antistatic bag. I told them that whomever it was that had returned the board previously must have been responsible and that their returns dept just didn't catch it the first time so I ended up getting blamed.

At that point I had been buying a lot of equipment from them. A few grand per year at least. And I had been doing that for a while. They were completely inflexible. So now I never buy anything from them unless I absolutely can't find it anywhere else. I buy everything from Amazon even if it costs more since I know that at least if there are any issues, Amazon won't give me any crap about a return. I've had to use their A to Z program only a couple of times but they've backed me up every time with no qualms so it's well worth it to me.

I try to avoid Newegg whenever possible because they aren't worth the price when either MicroCenter or Amazon beats them on absolutely everything...
The only time I will order from them is when I cannot buy from anywhere else and then it really has to be a last resort..
I'm also still annoyed about having to pay for return shipping for a defective Asrock mobo....even after 3 phone calls to CS I still had to pay for return shipping...
I still will buy something like a TV or another high end item from lack of choice but I refrain from buying overpriced PC parts from them...
IMO it's inexcusable to charge more than a store that has to pay salesman and can still offer it at a better price after tax and transportation costs....I truly feel for those of you that don't live near a MC.

I don't envy your weather Raw, but damn if your Bills didn't look fantastic today. Worst passer rating of Roger's career.

Oddly enough, despite Ford's somewhat better weather, he's sounding like the Grinch compared to you.

I bought a $800 A/V Receiver from Newegg that came DOA. I had to fight with them to pay for the return shipping after they said they wouldn't cover it. Rediculous. They also couldn't send a replacement because they "didn't have any more in stock". I've bought very little from them since.

I bought a $800 A/V Receiver from Newegg that came DOA. I had to fight with them to pay for the return shipping after they said they wouldn't cover it. Rediculous. They also couldn't send a replacement because they "didn't have any more in stock". I've bought very little from them since.

Thats such a big piece. Youre better off goin to the maker or a localstore

I don't envy your weather Raw, but damn if your Bills didn't look fantastic today. Worst passer rating of Roger's career.

Oddly enough, despite Ford's somewhat better weather, he's sounding like the Grinch compared to you.
I'll tell you, this weather here sucks more and more as I get older. The older I get, seems the shorter I get. And it seems the deeper the snow gets....
Bad joke...bad.
It's almost to the point I want to pack it all up and move to a warmer part of the country.
As far as Ford goes, I understand his point of view somewhat and I am almost inclined to agree with him. ALMOST.

Thing is, this was my first experience using a "wireless" anything and I was a bit confused with all the unfamiliar terms and technology involved. I thought I really needed that setup CD to get the right security settings I wanted. I guess not now. It looks like everything is working ok and my setup is good. But that CD may have made things easier, I don't know.
That was a good game for Buffalo. They played like they used to play back in the late 80's, early 90's And the Packers didn't play like the Packers.
I couldn't believe the 2 interceptions by our 3rd. string Safety. That had to shake Aaron Rodger's up.

Yea i have bought a lot of things from newegg and never had any issues. Bought a gtx980 from them, not even 2 weeks later promo started for free game with the card. Sent an email to customer support couple days went by and i got a response and after i answered questions was asked, within day or 2 they gave me promo code for the game deal that. Even though the 3 games in question I already owned at the time so wasn't to bad if I didn't get the code but i did. Gave it to a friend of mine to use since i had no use for it.
