Power supply specialist be quiet! is launching the new Dark Power Pro 1000W to Computex 2007 in Taipei. This model will be designed specially for 4x4 AMD CPU architecture and for server use. The most powerful variant of the Dark Power Pro model from be quiet! will have a total of six 20A each +12V circuits. Five PCIe connectors (2x PCI-E 2.0 6+2-pin & 3x PCI-E 1.0 6-pin) will ensure the optimum power supply of tomorrow's high-end SLI or CrossFire systems. Another striking feature of the Dark Power Pro 1kW model will be its 3-minute fan follow-up control after computer shut-down. All the power supply units in the Dark Power Pro range are manufactured in accordance with ATX12V Version 2.2 and EPS12V Version 2.91 including 8-pin 12V connection specification. The Dark Power Pro 1000W will become available in June 2007 backed with 3-year warranty and free technical support.

I hear these are some great power supplies. Nice to see them borrow from Enermax for the 3 minutes of fan run time when the system is powered off. Also nice to see them borrow from Enermax the 5 12V rails @20a each. Now, if they borrow from Epowertec the rail combining technology, they will be in business.

It was actually Hiper who came up with the 3 minute spin down... But no matter...

Both companies offer after shut down psu cooling technologies, but it was Enermax who integrated this first...in Noisetaker PSUs long before Hiper Type R PSUs.

Are you sure? I didn't see it in the Enermax PSUs years ago, yet it has been in the Hipers since I have used them. I may well be wrong - so I will not argue my point, for lack of evidence or want.

Enermax calls it Smart Fan technology. Here's the description: After PC shuts down, cooling fans keep running for at least 2 mins to effectively cool down parts and hardware inside PSU and PC case.

Smart Fan is presented in the early Noisetaker 320W PSU Series: http://www.enermax.com.tw/english/product_Display1.asp?PrID=19

I bet this model is way older than the Type R.

Enermax and Topower had the "Smart Fan" function prior to Hiper.

But it's Zippy that had it first and they even hold the patent for it. ;)
