back in win 98 era, i really want to play age of empire again, but it looks the game not run well on win 7, sometimes the color just change to 256 color

Right click on the shortcut icon and make it Compatible win7 plus select colour type.

I remember a cool little machine at the mall that would let you pick out a game to demo and for a small fee, would write the demo to a 3.5" floppy while you waited. Good ol' sneakernet.
Some other games from my youth that I remember fondly are Avara (Mac only), Bolo (Originally Mac, but there's a nice port called WinBolo), Star Wars Episode 1: Pod Racer, and the ever fantastic Escape Velocity: Nova.

One that I remember hating was some old math game that ran on an old Apple II where you were an elephant and you had to solve math problems to try to race a second elephant to a bucket of water in the middle of the screen. I'd always lose because I was too busy freaking out that the other elephant was taking little steps and I wasn't getting anywhere. When the computer controlled elephant reached the water bucket, your elephant would turn away all sad and the other elephant would spray you with water while you were trying to take your walk of shame away. HATED that game.
Those were the good ol' days where the monitor had two colors. Green or black.
..and that's the way we liked it!

I've got EV and EV: Override set up in Basilisk II as well, heh. I later bought EV: Nova and promptly cracked it so i could have multiple installs with different mods on the same pc without authorizing each copy every time i go to play a different mod.

My very first game was on an Apple II. It was in high school in the late 70's. Our science teacher had bought one for $4,000 out of his own pocket iirc. The game was a maze game where you would come across guards that would give you directions and you had to figure out if they were lying or telling the truth. To this day I usually don't like maze games lol

I set Audiograbber to delete the WAV files after the MP3 files are created. I still use it because it's so fast.

Well, UT3 was a bit of a letdown. Now the team is indeed working on a new version and put out a YouTube video about it a few months ago. I think it's gonna be free to play as well, but don't quote me.

With all of the mods and new maps available it's much better. This is one that I still play.
