Cooler Master is lying

Time to rant.

I own a V550 PSU from CM and I just realized that CM actually lied. They advertise the unit that it uses 100% Japanese Capacitors but a review here on TPU shows otherwise. The only jap cap is the main cap which is made by Matsushita/Panasonic.

Here is an image from the review showing a Taiwanese-made Su'scon cap. Look to the lower left of the PCB, to the right of the fuse. The green ones look like Sanyo caps but I'm not sure.

Cooler Master needs to get their shit straight.

Don't know if it's a case of telephone game since the CM site only mentions "Japanese Capacitor" as in, a single one It points exactly to the single hold up capacitor

But yeah, I see newegg and several sites state that it has 100% Japanese capacitors. Does the box mention that too?

Well yeah, you can sue, nothing can stop you from doing that but taking into account that CM is a Taiwanese company I'm pretty sure it's a mistaken translation or maybe those bullet points come from a set template and the guy that maintains the website just changes some text here and there.

No review states that the PSU comes with Japanese caps only so it's not like CM sent review units fit with Japanese caps and then changed the retail units.

The green ones are TEAPO, 99% sure as they've used that unique scoring on the top for as long as I've seen them.

Sadly that's not just a blatant a lie but a loophole in US advertising law that has existed for a LONG time. It's why manufacturers can legally say things like Craftsman tools are made in the US, even though only superficial parts like screwdriver handles are done here. The rest , the wear and tear part of the tools, are made overseas.

and I think here is some misunderstanding !
actually , there're totally two versions of V semi modular series in market .
we phased changed 100% Japanese capacitor in Q2 of this yr and I'm not sure which version you have on hand now ?
hence, you can check your S/N again and we'll double check for you~
secondly , most of electrical capacitors are Rubycon, Panasonic and very few from Sanyo.
and I know some of you may doubt Sanyo is true Japanese capacitor or not ? and the answe is " YES "!
Sanyo now has been merged by Panasonc , even so they're not quite well-known but it's still Japanese capacitor and we'e tested its quality as well.
if you need certification or anything to approve this you can send me your contact way I'll pass all required info. to you.
as for solid capacitors , they are from NCC.
