There's a neat text based mini-game on the anvil carrack page (scroll to the last thing before "end transmission" and the comments here: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/14323-Into-The-Unknown-A-Carrack-Her-Crew then click "start") - if you're logged in, play and get to the end you get a "cartographer" forum title, which is pretty neat.

I also may have just bought a carrack. May as well add it to my list of ships please...

At the moment the devs aren't sure if you will have to have 2 or more people (read: not NPC characters) to fly the carrack - it's borderline as the ship is classed as a small cap ship and I'm not sure if they'll know for sure until they start balance testing the PU alpha. It does come with a rover and a small ship in the ship bay, so it's a pretty sweet setup.

Am I the only one having issues with the nose guns overheating and not cooling back down? The ball turret weapons, wing weapons, and canard turret weapons work just fine, but the nose guns won't cool down.

Honest question here. Is this game P2W? Why are ships so outrageously expensive? I really am hopeful for both this game and Elite Dangerous.

No it's not supposed to be pay to win at least... everything you can buy here you'll be able to earn or purchase in-game as well.

Honestly to me the AC module for SC feels more like BF/CoD in space with it's couple of maps and couple of game modes. It's good, looks amazing, but gets old fast...I can play for an hour or two and I'm ready to move on. I only have the Kickstarter Auroura MR, I don't plan to invest any further in this title until I see something worth investing in, I have heard about the future and this game has grossed more than most do in a lifetime...I'm going to patiently wait while it is developed into what I hope is Space Sim greatness. I want to explore space and have freedom...I'm hoping that'll happen before the FPS module. AC is fun though, and I am sure once this game comes into fruition from its very early development cycle atm, it'll be a truly different experience from the extreme limitations of now.

I'm loving the Gladiator!
Sadly, my vid card can't show it to its full extent.

The way to get into the ship is interesting; both seats come out at the same time.
The cockpit for both the pilot and turret are neat.
I really like how they gave it an "older" feel with the map lights.

Overall, I'm glad I got rid of the SuperHornet. This is more my style.

Hell yea, I was watching the live stream on Twitch! It was kickass that over 2 million people were watching it. I wonder what's in 1.0, Chris said it's not as polish as it should be and it's actually about 5 days early.

Control mapping now works great (can un-bind keys as well as save your config for re-importing if the game wipes to defaults in a future patch), the ships fly really nicely but there is an issue with the servers disconnecting people frequently. They're working on it, and restart the servers at the top of the hour and half past the hour to try and contain the problem.

In the time I have been able to play I'm really enjoying it - the mustangs, superhornet and avenger are all awesome in the game and everything feels really solid bar the smaller bugs and connection issue.

I've gotten in game twice and the Aurora feels like it should now, very nice! The Avenger is also an awesome ship, especially if you replace the suckerpunch guns with some Omnisky's III's.

Thrustmaster Warthog going on sale this afternoon at 4:00 EST on the 'Egg. Normal price on this jewel is around $415; according to the Camel, lowest price on Newegg was $398. Amazon's at about the same price, but had it down to $360 back in November (I remember that day... many kittens died from my despair that day.....). According to the blurb, this is a "replica set of the U.S. Air Force A-10C's joystick, dual throttle system and control panel". Definitely one of the top performers in the HOTAS arena, but if you're like me, way outta the sky range. Anyway, wanted to pass it along. Will post in the E : D thread as well
