So I bought a Galaxy GTX 660 Ti 3 gb on eBay. Low and behold the graphics card has error code 43 in Windows device manager. I installed new nvidia drivers and restarted and the error still remains. After doing some research online, I've came to the conclusion that it's a hardware error. So I took off the cooler to the graphics card and noticed what looked like some components missing (see pictures). So I was wondering if anyone else has the same graphics card and could take some HD pictures of theirs, because the ones on the Galaxy is blurry. Or if someone knows how to figure out the PCB of the graphics card... Anyway I'm just stuck

In all honesty, I feel you're barking up the wrong tree. I've seen plenty of solder pads like that with nothing in between the circuit paths/pads. I would request a refund from the ebay seller if you cannot make it work. Make sure you're giving it all the correct power connections.

I researched issues with NV cards and Windows 7, found a person had success by removing KB982526 from installed Windows Updates, granted this was 3 years ago that solution was published.

I would make sure you have the most recent BIOS, mainboard drivers (chipset specifically), WHQL graphics driver and update Windows. If that doesn't work, try a different slot if you have one.

Someone else rolled the driver back (issue was caused from a driver update failure), others performed a system restore to an earlier time.

This seems to have various solutions to it, I would also run CHKDSK and SFC /scannow in Windows Command Shell (search: cmd ). Ensure data and OS integrity pass those checks. If all else fails, try a different PC to verify the card works or not...and try to return it.

The eBay listing said no returns, so I'm outta luck. Do you think there is a way for Galaxy to somehow exchange it (that'd be a miracle, seeing how I only paid 40 dollars for it)?
btw I tested the hdmi port on the card and saw a red grid appear over everything (artifacts). but other than that the card can run 1920 x 1080 in some weird resolution (4:3 resolution), because of code 43 (system says it only has like 512 mb b/c the windows display adapter driver is the driver that loads when the nvidia driver says error)
Is there a bios in the actual graphics card?
Should I attempt a solder re-flow (throw it in the oven)?
Oh, and btw, thanks for the fast responses :)

I've been searching days for those pictures of the graphics card with the heat sink removed :D

It doesn't matter what the seller says. eBay requires items to be in the condition described in the listing, and if the item is not as described, the seller must accept returns for 14 days no matter what his return policy states. So unless the seller sold it as broken or you've waited 14 days to test it, the description is not correct and you can initiate an "item not as described" case for a refund.

That said, I'm inclined to agree with @Kursah in that this seems to be a software issue and not a hardware issue.

It took a week and a half to get here, and I've already had it for a 2 weeks (yesterday was the 2nd week), so I cant return it...

And I've already tried it on a different computer, so it makes me less inclined to think it's a software issue, unless there is a bios within the card.
Also what is the original thermal grease brand for the card, because the RMA will only take it if it has its original thermal grease, and I cleaned it off when I took off the heatsink... Just incase I can trick them to taking the card in.

Does any one have the VBIOS of the card, TPU doesn't have the 3 gb version on the gpu bios list, and I think my bios got corrupt. If any one has this card, can you send it to me via gpu-z and (upload it to Tech power up or) emailing me it? Oh and here's what what gpu-z determined from the graphics card? Is it broken? The memory isn't at 3072mb.

Is that maybe whats causing the code 43?

I'm not sure if you've tried it or not, but I've had Powercolor Honor warranties, after making the purchase through E-Bay.If You haven't , screw it, it's worth a shot.

Galaxy doesn't accept RMA's if you bought through eBay
