Why would you want to waste a whole DVD on not even 1mb of info?

Do you have a USB drive?

The reason it's corrupting isn't the computer's fault. Only reason you'd want to plug it into another PC is if that one had a video card already, so you can use it as a primary source to flash your 1950.

And yes, you can make a Bootable CD or DVD. It's "DVD-ROM (Boot)". Or CD in place of DVD.

Yea, I'll link it. No guarantee you'll get what I do. Every card is different.

NOTE: This is my BIOS with the clocks @ 600/600. My memory is tweaked, so your card may or may not like this BIOS.

Thanx, Formula :) Will try it tonight, then update you.

BTW, why is your mem clocked @ 600??

kk got it sorted in nero got the option for bootable dvd came up I have a dvd-rw disk:p well Im just going to use my original and the 1.325v bios you gave me a while ago :) it worked good I just wanted more memory clock.. for now I'll be happy with my card back working good.

why do I need my original bios on the bootable disk anyway? wont it work with just the 1.325v (overvolt) one? I'll throw it in there anyway and load up my overvolted bios in dos.

edit: oh I turned off ati poller on my main computer after that I guess it went into fulltime 3d mode and got so bad bad I could hardly see my screen it would not load windows for me, on this other computer as long as I dont have the drivers installed the card has no artifacts untill I reboot after first start-up. :S complicated I know.. hopefully now it will be fixed. :)

dashsmash have you added more vgpu with ati tool? I got alot higher clocks with my 1900gt rev1 690/818 with 1.4vgpu.

you prob have just checking your clock seems low.

I have a 1950pro...

how do you add more vgpu with ati tool, i didnt think it was possible with sofware, only with a bios mod (if you're lucky enough to have a voltage table) and Ketxxx is busy the noo, so not pestering to look at AGP....

i would love to add a little more juice to see if things can be upped a bit, some games I can play @ 634/810 but not all so i keep it at 621/796.5 as everything is stable...

off topic a little... what are people's thoughts on the 7.4 drivers - worth updating?

ah for my 1900gt ati tool had an vgpu option to up the voltage not sure if it does for the 1950pro (though it should have an option in there). I think the 7.4 drivers are worth the update, I read you get better performance with em.. I thinkI might of noticed better performance aswell I was happy with the 7.4 drivers.

Sorry, I think I made it 600/700. I do run 500/600 in 2D though.

And Chewy, why put the original BIOS on the disc? Because you can never be too safe.

Formula, you were right, each card IS different. With your BIOS, I didn't move a tad faster. My original BIOS looks older than yours...
Anyway, what PCIe freq. and voltage do you use?

And thanx again.

Well, running mine should bump your memory performance up some, since it's tweaked.

I run 1.425vgpu (so my BIOS is modded to, I haven't bothered to volt meter it since I don't know where to do it) and my PCIe voltage is +.1v I don't run any higher mhz on it. Ket mentioned 109 or 110mhz helping things. I don't bother.

Yeah, I tried to vary voltage using yours and my bios - don't think that it works on my card, 'cause temps were same... I'm running +.15 PCIe voltage "for stability". Tried to vary freq between 100 and 110 MHz - didn't see any effect. So, I'm still @ 614/790, and ATT artifact scanner freaks out after ~4 min., but 3DM06 and games run well.
All that means that I got rock solid card, after all :ohwell: Can sit back and relax

Stock BIOS with better fan settings, NOTHING else touched. You'll lose around 8-10c with those fan settings.

Are you using the ATI Tool Fuzzy cube? OC w/o it, try 621/750, then use Aquamark to verify. I know Aquamark is old now, but it's a quick bench nowadays. Then if you pass Aqua, keep pushing till you get artifacts in it and back off. My Max in Aquamark was 628/796. Then move on to a 3dMark (05 or 06, 06 prefferably), and if you pass that you should be okay. I've found I recieved errors from the cube at anything above 615/750. Did you set the driver level overclock checkbox in settings? If ya didn't you will have problems.

Edit: My Max in 3dMark 06 was 621/776, I did get one pass to go fine at 628/783 and I got 5552 score...we'll see what happens when I get my replaced P5B-D!

Well I've heard Sapphire's are the easiest to OC because they take after the 1950GT PCB...hmmm..that's interesting that you can't push much more on memory. Maybe try a bios that upps vGpu and fan speed to 100%, maybe memory timings also and see where you get.

The new Sapphire Pro's are on GT PCB, but mines older and not, and I still get up to 641/855

Roar, sorry, I can't mod yours w/o a 512 BIOS. Upload your current 512mb one and I can probably enable VIVO. W/o VIVO you should still be able to use HDTV since that's not VIVO.

EDIT: Roar, I modified a PowerColor 512 BIOS to be remarked as a HIS. I loosened the memory timings some, so try it at factory memory speeds like this. I know you didn't want the fan modified, but I did, because I know how much it helps, I use the same heatsink setup as you directly from HIS. And yes, the voltage is 1.40.

If this doesn't work, dump your HIS BIOS and I'll edit the "Description" line in hopes that it helps.

Just noticed that when using 2.2.1 it calls overdrive 1 overdirve 2d but they clocks are the same as stock 3d so this is messing with me.

I don't have any clue WTF Overdrive is in RaBit. On the AGP it portrays it right, with voltage and stuff. I don't bother with Overdrive, or CCC. I just use ATi Tray Tools (Not ATi Tools) and set 2D and 3D clocks. When a 3D app is started, ATi Tray Tools auto overclocks me. 500/600 2D to 641/810 3D.

So which do I edit? Any one of them that has a Voltage option. If it has a 2D option that WORKS, I leave it. Then I change Default and 3D.

Thnx bud all works perfect again.. much appreciated
