So what would be better option? The ram can be changed from cas11 to cas9 no problems.
I haven't really seen any issues with zotac lot of positive reviews.
as for motherboard which should I go for the H97 gaming 3 or the z97m g43 or the other z97?

That's up to you, yes the H97 does overclock but if you do go K series later you will probably get less out of a H97 than Z97, my earlier point was made simply on the basis of the fact that you are spending as much for an H97 than you could get a Z97 for and in that circumstance for me it's a no brainer to go Z97 but that's just my logic, for me out of that Scan list my 1st choice would be Giga D3H followed by the Asus P.

I would be surprised if the g43 can get a 4790k to turbo... I quite like the looks of the H97 Gaming 3 though :)

Hows this now? Thought i would go with the Gigabyte D3H and the Palit Jetstream GTX970 with positive reviews and only slightly more than reference. Also changed the ram to a CAS9.

Looking good! I agree that H97 gaming 3 looks a nice board but again for the same or similar money I back the Z97 selection..... but then I am biased! :)

Don't know why'd you need extra fans, when your case will have plenty. There's a 200mm at the front and 120mm at the back. You might consider getting a cooler for your CPU, cause the boxed one is shite.

Eloquently put, but nonetheless relatively true. Though with no overclocking it wouldn't need to be monstrous.

Don't see the need for a aftermarket CPU cooler at this point when i won't be overclocking and the only heavy task i'll be doing are android development and gaming.
As for extra fans is just for show and more airflow.

OP, the case comes with decent fans already and I would really avoid the Coolermaster Sickleflow fans. Used them once for a build for a friend and they are terrible. Very noisy, had to use resistor cables on them to bring them down to a tolerable noise level and they hardly shifted any air. As other's have mentioned above, I would really abandon extra fans and invest in a good CPU cooler instead. It would make a much bigger difference to noise and airflow.

This is the CPU cooler I would recommend : http://www.scan.co.uk/products/silv...fan-for-lga775-115x-1366-2011-am2-am3-fm1-fm2

I'd also avoid memory with a large heatspreader like the Corsair. It will just get in the way in future. Go for this instead : http://www.scan.co.uk/products/8gb-...pc3-12800-(1600)-non-ecc-cas-9-9-9-24-xmp-15v

Also I know the case is personal preference but why are you going for such a huge system? You could easily get away with a nice micro ATX system. Id recommend : http://www.scan.co.uk/products/corsair-obsidian-series-350d-performance-micro-atx-case

And this board : http://www.scan.co.uk/products/msi-...-6gb-s-pcie-30-(x16)-vga-dvi-hdmi-dp-mini-itx

What about 1 Noctua Redux fan at the top?
As for CPU cooler again i really don't see the need at the moment i will get one in future but for now i won't see a need.
I didn't noticed them headspreader thanks for the tip and as for case again i have always wanted either the Antec 300 or Coolermaster CM690 when they first released but was never able to afford either of them.
I thought i will take advantage this time with a completely new build and as a late christmas gift from the other half that will be getting me the CM690 III.

I do like the idea of building a small form factor PC but i just like the aesthetics of the CM690 which to me was iconic and was one of the best bang for buck midtower case when they first came out years ago before Corsair decided to release their own case brand and now dominate the market.

The idea of MATX/ITX is a good idea again but because i will be getting CM690III,getting a smaller motherboard would look silly and for price you can get a budget Z97 board.

I would actually consider an aftermarket cooler. Even though he is not overclocking.

I have an i5 4440 running, used to run with stock cooler, but was thermal throttling. Case was a 550D with an extra top exhaust fan. Maxed out at 2800MHz. Added a Hyper 212 EVO, temps down in the 50s, CPU ran fine pinned at 3.3GHz, with the iGPU running at 1750MHz 1.3v.

Just out of curiosity what you guys think is better the i5 build or this?
with in mind the most intense games id be playing are mainly MMOs and high demanding single player games eg dying light. Majority times be programming and playing lot of source games:

Some thoughts on the I5 Build:
1. 650W PSU is a bit of an odd choice, overpowered for one GPU, but would prefer slightly more for two. Could replace with a CS550 for the same price but better efficiency.
2. There is no point getting a full sized atx motherboard unless you plan on SLI, which you can't do with that board, so why not build a matx board and case instead. Scan have a great price on the MSI Z87M mobo at the moment. (£82)
3. For +£20 I'd prefer the I5 4690K so when you feel the need you can get an extra 1 GHz for the mere price of a decent CPU cooler.

Some thoughts on the Pentium Build:
1. I wouldn't, waste of an expensive GPU on an underpowered CPU.
2. 120mm watercoolers don't make much sense, all the pump noise of water, without the advantage of great cooling. Stick to a good air cooler.

How about something like this + whatever case you want:

If you mainly play Source and MMO games I wouldn't buy the Pentium with a 970. MMO's and Source games are stupendously CPU heavy, and most Source games are capable of using more than 2 threads. Most MMO's typically aren't that GPU heavy either. I know the 970 is new and shiny, and it's nice to be overpowered to all hell, but a processor would fit your needs a lot more. I'd recommend an i5 (not necessarily a K), and a slightly more conservative GPU.

I have no problem with the any parts in the rest of the build, it's just the case is overkill, but gives you growing room for the future.

Could replace with a CS550 for the same price but better efficiency.

Efficiency is better, granted, but the CS series use GreatWall as an OEM (not exactly the greatest), and doesn't use the best of components. It's also pretty average in over-all performance, ripple etc.

I agree with most of what has been said above, if you will be playing multithreaded games then you will of course be better off with a quad, not sure about getting one for just 20 quid more than the G3258. There are plenty of reviews out there that show the chips 2 threaded performance in multi threaded games at at 4.6 - 4.7gig (which is realistic with many) it is actually more than acceptable in most and again I agree that the 970 could be held back in the most demanding games. For me I only play 2 games, neither of which uses more than 2 threads so I am fine with my 280X, in fact it's performance in those 2 games feels much more lively than my old I7 930 did at 4.3gig.

Tatty - I meant £20 more for the i5 4690K as apposed to the i5 4460. Seems like a worthwhile upgrade if you are going to get a Z motherboard as you can go from 3.4GHz up to around 4.5GHz which should give a decent performance boost if it is needed in the future.

Appreciate all comments and believe me i would gladly buy a 4690K but being limited on budget i can't really push for it unless i make a sacrifice on GTX970, i have never owned a high-end graphics card before so i would like to get one for first time in years.
I have owned 9600GT,8800GT,ATI HD5750,GTX 460 768mb and GTX660 non ti which are all mid-range graphics card so i would like to try a higher end least once.
As for changing PSU to a 550w again there aren't that many good 550W PSUs for value for money with performance and reliability, like people said Corsair lower end PSUs aren't as well built anymore. The XFX 650W semi-modular is sitting in that sweet spot for value for money and performance+reliability.

The case again is a preference like lot of people said,i do like idea of MATX build which can save ton of space for me, however none of the cases are appealing to me at all. At least if i get a CM690 III i can look into future proofing myself if i ever consider going SLI or something down the line with a K series or whatever intel release in future.

As for final build now i think i've decided to do it like this, get a cheap CPU cooler seeing as i can't overclock anyway it just something better than stock cooler and because i don't like them stupid push-pins. Stick with the 2 stock CM690 III fans and switched jetstream to EVGA ACX edition seeing they're same price.
Motherboard i have gone for MSI Z97 Guard-pro for the colour scheme i want and because it comes with 4 SATA cables.

Looks good to me, at least you have some future proof there with the Z97 if you can afford to go k series chip later or if not perhaps go cheapest H97 and save a few.

Yeah, I would skip the Pentium K unless you were looking for a ~500GBP build you were definitely looking to upgrade within a year or two.

I personally don't really see the point in the Z97 board, if you are going for one that cheap, you are unlikely to be able to get a k-series CPU past 4.4GHz, you might have trouble getting it past 4GHz. Going with a higher quality H97 board of similar price could net you better results, or be equally good assuming intel releases a high base multiplier CPU like the 4790k when they do broadwell. That said, from what I've seen, H series boards don't seem to have too much trouble tweaking the multipliers of the CPUs. I was able to lock a 4440 to its 3.3GHz turbo speed simply by manually setting the multiplier on my H87-D3H.
