is normal just some coil whine/plastic vibrating all the corsairs do it even my hx750 does it
tho to a lesser extent

believe me if you actually had a short you would have more problems then a little bit of buzzing at idle
people seem to associate buzzing from electrical components as bad its not its completely normal in 90% of cases

That's not the same noise, and there is nothing normal about it. There is definitely something shorting or otherwise wrong with the PSU. I would say the reason Prime95 doesn't cause it is because the issue is with the GPU rails in the PSU (not the GPU itself, that's probably fine)

I would get a new PSU, or if that one is modular, check the connections are all connected properly etc. first. But my money would be on the PSU being faulty.

if there was a short of enough magnitude to cause a audible noise the OCP would kick in and it would shutdown
its some intermittent coil whine from the switches oscillating under low load due to the psu switching to a lower output state and then back again
my HX750 does the exact same thing at idle not as loud but its the same noise it even does it when the system is `off`
its noise from the inductive switches nothing more
if the system starts to display instability then I would look at it again
you don't need to take my word for it google it

I suggest OP runs a GPU benchmark and see if the problem can be reproduced. They seem to be having a hard time understanding that P95 doesn't effect GPUs.

I am feel now real pain in ass. Damn . I am feel bad. The only way to reproduce noise is run game for 10 minutes then close game and noise is starting and after few seconds noise gone.
And again ...if i run game for few minutes, close game , noise is starting again.

its fine if you feel the need to replace the psu by all means cx series are pretty crappy
but in terms of having a actuall problem I don't see one

Sounds like sparking/shorting but it's probably not (turn off lights and have a look in the dark.) Probably funky fan noise, or plastic vibration noise, but damn that is irritating, I would swap parts out myself.

So the psu is the problem after all. Im glad we got that sorted out.

Im convinced that the op said the noise "sounded" like the video , not "was" the video.
The video was merely a demonstration ,representative of his problem........

Yes video was merely a demonstration ,representative of my problem........ I just have the same noise on my pc after quitting the game.So i am thinking that is GPU. This is movie of somebody but with the same nosie:

I have a question to you OneMoar. Can you listen again? And tell me. Your PSU was making the same noise on idle yes? But how long?
Mine ( PSU or GPU ) is doing that noise always maybe 10-15 seconds after quitting the game on idle. Can you explain me why only after quitting the game i have that noise? That noise is very short if it beginn. After 5 seconds is gone.
During gaming i dont have that noise.

I have Corsair750 RM. I dont have AX.

I explained what the probabl cause is a few posts up
psu is a little under 3 months old now common issue with corsairs

If other people with the same PSU as you are having the same issue, that's a pretty clear indication that it's a fault of the PSU.

Just because running the game causes the issue doesn't mean it's the GPU's fault. Stressing the CPU alone with your GPU idling is less of a strain on your PSU than a game that stresses CPU and GPU together.
Just doing some googling here, a loaded 4790k uses ~180 watts (source: Anandtech 4790k review). A full system with a GTX 980 running Furmark pulls ~300 watts, granted that's with a 4930k (source: Anandtech GTX 980 review).

But i have RM serie . Its issue with RM too?
If it's not an exact match, it probably still has similar internals and is likely by the same manufacturer. I'd say there's a good possibility it does.

note he said after quitting so its doing it at idle which is what mine does when its cold ...
Jesus h Christ people read the thread ...
its making a noise at idle not under load its most likely due to early support for haswell c6/c7 low power states that cause the psu to switch more frequently
and no there is no way to be 100% sure but I am 98% sure the psu is fine

Strange i just close my ear to case and that noise i think is coming from upper part of the motherboard, where is ram and cpu.
But i was tested cpu in Prime95 torture test and i dont hear any noise.

now I am 100% sure its nothing to be concerned with

Normal stuff happening. The couple seconds you are hearing noise is when the GPU 3D clocks aren't being used, but the voltage being supplied is for 3D clocks. The card steps-down to 2D voltage and the noise goes away. Coil whine is common. Consider yourself lucky, it's not happening all the time.

I did in the post above yours and so have others. You can either accept it or return the card to most likely get another card that makes the same noise. Understood?

OP has posted same thread (again) on [H] forum, and has been called out as the repeat GPU problem troll. Except he created a new account on [H] again to avoid being noticed, but we noticed the litwicki name here, and the matching thread there. Don't waste your time on this guy.

Hasn't he been doing this already?

I think gaming is better then any bench as it's real life testing. :p

EDIT: I love the arc'n noise in the clip!
