Tridents have small screws on the ends to remove the very top of the heatsink, and they now fit fine under my Cryorig Ultimate.

I was about to say that as well!Tridents have small screws on the ends to remove the very top of the heatsink, and they now fit fine under my Cryorig Ultimate.
Yes Tridents have a screw that you can remove the top fin and make them lower profile. Its very easy to take off and will not hurt performance.

Well take the heatspreaders off that are obstructed and leave the rest on as I think that would be fine.yeah i know it with the screw...but....witout the heat spreader they are not so sexy........i know it´s only an optical Thing. but my haf-x has an window....

Depends on the spec comparison (IE the cas latency and the speeds) as to whether one will outperform the other. Generally speaking the Trident-X series is Gskills "Enthusiast" ram that is normally the choice cuts if you will and go up to the highest speeds. But that still comes down to the specs in the end.

The tridents are fine. Proper airflow allows em to run cool. Just Run em at whats supported by the cpu and mobo.
I have a Set of 2133 Ripjaws and running em at xmp. I have a Scythe Ashura that doesnt block slots.
